In the world of Harry Potter, I, being one of the first Muggles ever introduced, am part of the Dursley family, which includes my uncle Vernon, aunt Petunia, and cousin Dudley. Apart from possibly Lord Voldemort himself, there were hardly any characters in the Harry Potter world as cruel, unkind, and wicked as Dolores Umbridge. As a ruthless educator who often mistreated her students, following the Second Wizarding War, she was imprisoned in Azkaban for her offenses against Muggle-borns. During her trial, Umbridge attempted to flee with Death Eaters, but was eventually apprehended again. Her wand was destroyed, and she served out the remainder of her days in confinement.

12. Minerva McGonagall

Hogwarts Transfiguration Professor

After bravely joining the Battle of Hogwarts and showing great courage in the Wizarding Wars against Voldemort, Professor Minerva McGonagall assumed Dumbledore’s former position and became the headmistress of Hogwarts. It was under her leadership that the school was eventually reopened, allowing a new generation of witches and wizards to learn about the Wizarding World. As recently as 2017, students like Albus Severus Potter were enrolled under Headmistress McGonagall’s watch.

In the Harry Potter series, Arthur and Molly Weasley were initially portrayed as the compassionate parents of Ron, playing significant roles in the battle against the Death Eaters over time. Arthur engaged in the Battle of the Seven Potters, while Molly famously took down Bellatrix Lestrange. As they aged gracefully at their home, the Burrow, they enjoyed spending time with their dozen grandchildren. After a while, Arthur resumed his previous position at the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office and eventually climbed the ranks to become a Head of Department at the Ministry.

A Despicable Death Eater

In essence, Lucius Malfoy, Draco’s father, embodied the worst aspects of arrogant pure-blood wizards who looked down upon others. As a devotee of Lord Voldemort, it was only when the Dark Lord resurfaced that Lucius realized the destructive nature of his regime. Alongside Narcissa, they abandoned the Death Eaters and were granted clemency for their offenses. Lucius Malfoy skillfully avoided imprisonment in Azkaban and made a point to ensure his grandson, Scorpius Malfoy, was not influenced by his misguided pure-blood ideologies.

9. Draco Malfoy

Harry’s Hogwarts Rival

Draco Malfoy, the arrogant Slytherin student, held a strong contempt for Harry Potter and eventually adopted his parents’ extreme pure-blood beliefs, transforming into a Death Eater and allying with Voldemort. The traumatic events of the Battle of Hogwarts significantly altered Malfoy, leading him to marry Astoria Greengrass. With more open-minded perspectives on all sorts of wizards, Malfoy and Astoria brought up their son Scorpius with more compassionate values, resulting in a kinder, more empathetic child than Malfoy ever became during his youth.

8. George Weasley

A Twin Alone

It’s unfortunate to ponder about George Weasley’s later life since he lost his identical twin brother, Fred, during the Battle of Hogwarts. Known for their constant companionship, after Fred’s demise, George wedded Angelina Johnson and named their child Fred as a tribute to his sibling. George persisted in managing Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, which brought him many enemies among the professors but earned him admiration from naughty students throughout the magical world.

7. Rubeus Hagrid

Keeper Of Keys And Grounds Of Hogwarts

Rubeus Hagrid initially shared Harry Potter’s first understanding about being a wizard and remained as his friend, guide, and fatherly figure during Harry’s years at Hogwarts. After Harry seemed to perish in the Battle of Hogwarts, it was Hagrid who brought his body back to the castle. In his later life, Hagrid continued working at Hogwarts, and although there were rumors of a romantic bond between him and the giantess Madame Maxime, they never got married.

An Unusual Ravenclaw

Despite being mockingly called ‘Loony Lovegood’ by some unfair Hogwarts students, Luna was in fact one of the most perceptive and compassionate individuals in Harry Potter’s life. After courageously battling Bellatrix Lestrange alongside Hermione and Ginny during the Battle of Hogwarts, Luna gained prominence as a well-known wizarding naturalist, exploring the globe in pursuit of extraordinary creatures. In time, Luna wed her fellow naturalist Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander, and, as reported by Rita Skeeter, donned a wedding gown adorned with rainbows and sequins, crowned with a tiara fashioned from silver unicorn horns.

5. Neville Longbottom

A Brave Gryffindor

Initially, Neville Longbottom was portrayed as a timid, accident-prone, and reserved student from Gryffindor House who struggled in his classes and often ended up being the target of jokes at Hogwarts. However, over time, he evolved into a valiant individual, demonstrating immense courage when he eliminated the final Horcrux by beheading the serpent Nagini. Although Neville had a brief stint as an Auror, he eventually took on the roles of Herbology professor and Head of Gryffindor House. In addition, Neville tied the knot with his schoolmate Hannah Abbott and later became the godfather to Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley’s son, Albus Potter.
