Mija, who has been living with her grandfather in South Korea, shares a life with Okja. When Okja wins the award, it is taken away to New York, leaving Mija heartbroken. After various tumultuous events, Mija decides to expose the company’s mistreatment of animals by recording their wrongdoings.

In the film, Okja is a compassionate and affectionate creature who shares a deep bond with Mija. Despite its size and being computer-generated, Okja feels incredibly real and endearing in the movie. The story serves as a powerful critique of animal mistreatment and exposes corporations that profit from factory farms. Determining their intentions and deciphering their messages is the central theme of Denis Villeneuve’s movie. While the epic confrontation between an Engineer and the protagonist in Prometheus is a pivotal moment, it seems that their presence is more subtly woven into the narrative of Alien: Covenant. Instead, we are presented with flashbacks, orchestrated by the enigmatic character David, played by Michael Fassbender. These flashbacks offer intriguing insights into the origins of the worlds depicted and the circumstances that led to David’s presence on the central planet. The Engineers, with their striking sci-fi aesthetics – a blend of unusual physiques and piercing black eyes – add an air of mystery to these tales.

Transforming the blockbuster video game with the identical title, “The Last of Us” has been a tremendous success for HBO. Individuals affected by this pandemic have a single objective: to infect as many people as they can. The infected are referred to as “The Clickers” by those who remain uninfected, due to the sound they emit while pursuing their prey.

There are varying degrees of transformation into a Clicker, and those who have recently changed may exhibit a slight fungal appearance reminiscent of mushrooms. These individuals are often referred to as Runners. More advanced stages show extensive growth of fungi-like features across their bodies. If the fungus has grown over their eyes, causing blindness, they are called Clickers because they rely on echolocation to detect prey through sound.

Antiquated clickers, which have been infested over an extended period, are often referred to as “Bloaters.” These creatures possess an almost supernatural level of power and endurance that can be quite disturbing to observe for spectators, and prove to be formidable adversaries for those participating in the event.

Death Angels

‘A Quiet Place’ (2018)

In the A Quiet Place series, creatures more fittingly named Clickers due to their loud, alarming sounds when pursuing, are actually known as Death Angels. These extraterrestrial beings are blind, relying instead on their acute hearing to detect humans nearby. They lack eyesight entirely and move swiftly on four long limbs. Their faces can open and close, causing harm and consumption of their victims.

The unique appeal of this series lies in its portrayal of characters who interact primarily using sign language or other physical cues, as they navigate a world plagued by deadly creatures that are sensitive to sound. The movie A Quiet Place follows a family’s struggle to survive amidst these terrifying Death Angels. In A Quiet Place Part II, we witness the efforts of survivors attempting to rebuild society in the wake of the attacks. Its face has an uncanny ability to unfurl like a blooming flower, revealing a grim row of teeth and a gaping maw for devouring its unfortunate victims.

As it treads the halls of Hawkins’ very own school in Indiana, the atmosphere becomes charged with an icy dread as the lights flicker ominously, heightening the terror for the characters we’ve grown to care about deeply. With each passing season, Stranger Things has introduced larger and more formidable monsters that have left a lasting impression on us. Yet, it’s essential to remember that these nightmarish creations wouldn’t exist without The Demogorgon paving the way first.
