BBC announces Doctor Who special with a returning David Tennant, Billie Piper and more stars
As a dedicated Doctor Who fan, I’m super pumped to share that I just heard some awesome news! BBC has announced a unique episode for “Doctor Who: Unleashed” – and guess what? Some beloved stars from the iconic series are making a comeback in this special event! Can’t wait to see who will be there! 🤩
Under the guidance of Steffan Powell, a unique episode is set to commemorate two decades since the show’s resurgence. This memorable event can be streamed on iPlayer, BBC Three, and BBC Wales.
According to the tweet/post, Steffan Powell embarks on a journey through the time vortex alongside various actors and creative minds who contributed to the revival of the show within the Doctor Who universe.

Despite not knowing all the recurring characters in the upcoming episode, the post features a photo of the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, along with Billie Piper, who portrayed Rose Tyler. This could mean a reunion for these two characters.
At the same time, the present-day Doctor, portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa, along with his new companion Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), were also visible in the scene.
2023 marked the release of “Doctor Who: Unleashed,” timed to celebrate the series’ 60th anniversary. Over four half-hour episodes, Powell delved into the production to secure unique insights from the actors and team involved.
In this show, Tennant, Catherine Tate, Yasmin Finney, Neil Patrick Harris, Millie Gibson, Gatwa, and even the original comic book creators Pat Mills and Dave Gibbons, were all part of the discussions and tours, and there was also a special appearance by them.
In other locations, the new episode of “Doctor Who” will be broadcast tomorrow evening before the Eurovision Grand Final.
On an appropriately exciting journey, the Doctor and Belinda are bound for the Intergalactic Song Festival, where they’ll watch planets from all corners of the cosmos vying for the title.
This episode will showcase Graham Norton, who is known for his commentary on the Eurovision Song Contest for BBC television. Additionally, Charlie Condou from Unforgotten, Kadiff Kirwan and Freddie Fox from Slow Horses, Miriam-Teak Lee, and Rylan Clark will all make special appearances.
