Jason Statham’s latest movie A Working Man has just become available to stream on Prime Video.
Starting from today, UK residents who are subscribed to Amazon Prime Video can enjoy watching the newest action movie starring The Stath right in their homes.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to see Jason Statham team up once more with director David Ayer in their latest collaboration, “A Working Man.” What makes this project even more intriguing is the presence of David Harbour, known for his outstanding role in “Stranger Things.
According to the 2014 novel “Levon’s Trade” by Chuck Dixon, the movie tells the story of Jason Statham’s character, who is referred to as Levon Cade in the storyline. In simpler terms, the main character in the film is named Levon Cade, played by Jason Statham.
Previously a member of the Royal Marines Commandos, Levon has transitioned to a career in construction. However, he is thrust back into his old line of work when the daughter of his employer, Jenny (played by Arianna Rivas), gets abducted by human traffickers.
In the story, Harbor assumes the role of Gunny Lefferty, a companion to Levon and a former Marine Raider who is blind. This character assists the main character in their quest to find Jenny.
The cast is completed with Michael Peña playing Joe Garcia, Levon’s supervisor, and Noemi Gonzalez portraying his wife, Carla.
The cast is finished off with Micheal Peña in the role of Levon’s superior, Joe Garcia, and Noemi Gonzalez as his wife, Carla.
Lastly:
Michael Peña and Noemi Gonzalez are added to the cast, taking on the roles of Levon’s manager, Joe Garcia, and his spouse, Carla respectively.
In the role of Russian Mafia member Wolodymyr “Wolo” Kolisnyk is Jason Flemyng, and Yuri is portrayed by Merab Ninidze, who was previously seen in Conclave.
Fan reactions to the movie were positive, praising the collaboration of Ayer and Statham.
Currently, the film has received mixed reactions from critics, with a relatively low rating of 49% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In simpler terms, the review by Digital Spy gave the movie “A Working Man” only two stars, indicating that many people found it hard to appreciate Stath’s latest film due to a plot that was unnecessarily complex and overly serious in nature.
It’s a standard Statham movie, though a lower-ranking one, according to film critic Mark Kermode.
In his critique, he described it as being quite aggressive, with sharp, crisp, and piercing elements, yet lacking humor. He went on to say that it had a less refined feel, similar to a lesser production by Jason Statham.
If you’re open to watching “A Working Man” and viewing it as a 116-minute action film similar to Statham’s “Taken”, but with a rather solemn tone, you might want to stream it on Amazon Prime Video.
