TI 2025 direct invites, Road to TI qualifier dates announced

Eight teams will skip the qualifiers and head straight to the TI 2025 main event.

This year, we’re right in the thick of Dota 2’s The International season. Today, Valve has unveiled the eight teams that have secured a direct pass to the MOBA’s premier tournament. These teams are: Team Liquid, PARIVISION, BB Team (stylized as BetBoom), Tidebound, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit, Team Falcons, and Tundra Esports. Notably, many of these teams originate from Europe.

Valve has disclosed the schedule for each regional qualifier tournament leading up to TI 2025. Every team that will compete in the Hamburg event will be decided by June 17th.

Direct invites expanded to eight, but some big names made to qualify through opens

On May 14th, invitations were extended by Valve to the elite eight Dota 2 teams worldwide, which they announced through a blog post. Notably, teams like PARIVISION (recent LAN champions), Tundra, and Liquid have secured their spots directly in the main event.

Throughout the year 2025, Falcons and BetBoom have proven to be reliable performers, despite this, Spirit’s unsteady performance since PGL Wallachia Season 3 warrants some concern. However, Spirit’s impressive early-season form and their runner-up position at ESL One Raleigh demonstrates they deserve a spot among the invited teams.

There’s been a bit of shock surrounding the invitation extended to Tidebound. While their recent performance hasn’t been consistent, their inclusion ensures diversity, as the roster otherwise would have only included teams from Western or Eastern Europe.

Valve has disclosed the schedules for each region’s closed qualifier along with the allocation of final slots. A single Eastern European spot is at stake, as powerhouses like Aurora, NaVi, and Virtus.pro battle it out against the region’s top contenders in early June.

Two openings remain for teams that didn’t qualify from Western Europe, and Nigma Galaxy, OG, and MOUZ are among those invited to compete in the closed qualifier. Unfortunately, it seems extremely challenging for Team Secret and their fans, particularly Puppey supporters, to secure a spot at TI 2025. Assuming they manage to assemble a team beforehand, they will have to battle through the open qualifiers to even stand a chance of participating.

Here is a list of the dates for each region’s TI 2025 pre-qualifier events, along with the scheduled date and the participating teams:
