Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 8 Falls Flat
At the Mission: Impossible premiere at Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, Tom Cruise admired his fellow actors Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Hannah Waddingham by giving them a round of applause in amazement.
On the red carpet, the mature Hollywood star, aged 62, graciously allowed Hayley, 43, Pom, 39, and Hannah, 50 – the film’s leading actresses – to capture everyone’s attention, standing tall with pride.
In a graceful move, the seasoned Hollywood actor, 62, chose to take a step back on the red carpet, allowing Hayley, 43, Pom, 39, and Hannah, 50 – the film’s leading ladies – to shine brightly. He stood proudly by their side.
Tom’s eagerly awaited eighth and concluding movie, Mission: Impossible – The Last Call, has unexpectedly received low ratings thus far.
The movie, repeatedly postponed, has drawn sharp criticism from harsh movie reviewers before its scheduled premiere on May 23.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but passionately share my dismay over Brian Viner’s scathing two-star rating for the latest film release. In his strong words, he boldly declared it as a three-hour journey through senselessness that might just leave you yearning for the end of days.
The attendees at last night’s debut screening of the newest Mission: Impossible flick in Cannes might have received a heads-up. This film is set to disintegrate, or so it lasts, for close to three hours.

‘Ethan Hunt, portrayed by Tom for the eighth time, quickly resolves a crisis that threatens the world once more.’
‘Only this time he does it partly in his underpants.’
He notes that in past Mission: Impossible adventures, not only were the missions enjoyable but also the stunts were thrilling.
The movie contains reminiscences of former greatness and traces of its essence, but it unfortunately lags at times. It could shorten by approximately 30 minutes if many dialogue scenes were removed, which seem to repetitively emphasize that our world is on the brink of disaster in various ways.
‘By the end, you might be wishing it would just fall off it.’
In her review, Dulcie Pearce from The Sun labeled the film as “uninteresting and lacking humor, which I never expected from this series.” (2 stars)
The critic also hit out at the movie’s ‘uninteresting’ choice of characters.
Dulcie wrote: ‘What I can’t abide is the complete lack of humour or interesting characters.

In the previous movie, Grace, a renowned pickpocket, shone brightly. Now, however, her character seems to have transformed into a woman with a distant gaze, hinting at a possible fondness for Ethan.
In a surprising turn of events, the once ruthless assassin, Paris, remains silent and merely nods. These initial two hours lack excitement, an unexpected lull that I hadn’t anticipated from this series.
2 years back, following the screening of M:I7, my adrenaline levels were sky-high, almost requiring beta blockers. This time around, it felt like I needed a defibrillator instead.
For the last hour, I’d add an additional star due to its thrilling sequence of death-defying acrobatics, such as a wing walk fight, reminiscent of Tom Cruise once more disregarding financial risks by laughing at insurance costs.
‘But this goodbye to a brilliant brand really did self-destruct.’
