Halle Berry BANNED From Cannes?! You Won’t BELIEVE Why!
On Wednesday evening, Halle Berry chose to wear an extravagant dress that was not in line with the latest Cannes Film Festival dress code when she walked the red carpet before the premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
58-year-old American actress, originally scheduled to wear a revealing outfit for the opening ceremony, was compelled to switch due to the festival’s recent prohibition on suggestive attire. However, she dazzled in a stylish black-and-pink dress from Celia Kritharioti’s Spring 2025 Haute Couture line instead.
Yet, it appeared that Halle may have violated the festival’s contentious new regulations, given her floor-length dress showcased a streamlined black bodice, an expansive plaid pink skirt, and a long black trail.
In a stylish touch, the actress who played Catwoman elevated her figure with a pair of sharp, black high heels adorned with diamond-studded ankle straps.
She further elevated the glamorous red carpet ensemble with a dazzling diamond statement necklace.
To finish off her ensemble, she arranged her short, wavy brown bob hairstyle and donned a glowing makeup look.

After disclosing that she had to alter her chosen attire at the eleventh hour because of stringent new regulations against revealing outfits, her debut on the red carpet takes place. This is in reference to the Film Festival’s opening ceremony.
The actress often leaves people speechless due to her beauty, and she made a bold move by wearing nothing underneath her dress at the Met Gala just a few days ago.
However, during the beginning of this year’s festivities, which commenced with their grand opening on Tuesday, Halle admitted that she needed to rethink her chosen attire due to its extended train, as it violated the latest regulations set by the festival.
During the weekend, the organizers of Cannes announced rigorous new rules as a means to curb the fashion craze among celebrities for wearing revealing “naked dresses” – outfits that show significantly more skin than they cover – on the red carpet.
At the inaugural press event for the festival, Halle expressed: ‘Tonight, I intended to don a stunning gown designed by Gupta, but unfortunately, its voluminous train makes it impractical for me to wear.’
Absolutely, I will adhere to the regulations, which necessitated a change in direction. As for the aspect of removing clothing, I believe it could potentially be another wise decision as well.
Actress who played Catwoman was queried about suggestions for a woman to portray James Bond, given that the rights to the series have been purchased by Amazon.
Halle firmly expressed her doubts about having a female Bond character, stating, “I’m not certain that the role of 007 would truly fit a woman.

In 2025, it sounds pleasant to express, “Oh, she should be a woman,” but in truth, I’m uncertain if I agree with that approach.
This year, the star is part of a prestigious group that includes Juliette Binoche and Jeremy Strong, serving on the Cannes Jury.
‘This is a huge honour to be asked to be a part of this jury,’ Halle added.
This film festival is among the largest globally. During our discussions in the jury, we recognized its significance in launching careers. Therefore, being part of it feels like a great privilege, and I’m thrilled to join these esteemed jurors in this shared experience.
I’m hoping to join the jury for this event, where I can meet so many fantastic individuals who are involved. I anticipate seeing some truly exceptional movies during this experience.
I believe my extensive experience in the film industry over three decades gives me a distinctive viewpoint. Each of us brings our own unique perspective to movie-watching.
It’s important to remember that no single person possesses absolute truth. Instead, each of us will share our unique viewpoints about the movies we’ll watch. I can’t wait to hear everyone else’s insights as well.
Embracing the essence of humanity lies in our unique individuality, stemming from diverse cultural perspectives, familial upbringings, varying ages, and individual genders.

I’m excited about our discussions as they’ll help us discover commonalities, yet also uncover differences, for isn’t it fascinating to explore both aspects?
In recent times, the glitzy event has likely garnered more focus on the stylish attire of its famous attendees compared to the lineup of movies shown at Cannes.
However, as French director Amélie Bonnin’s film “Leave One Day” kicks off the event this week, a fresh set of nudity guidelines aimed at upholding decency will be enforced.
Organizers explain that this strict decision aims to discourage the fashionable trend of revealing outfits, often referred to as ‘naked dresses’, which show far more skin than they cover, on the red carpet.
The newly established regulations prohibit extravagant dresses with lengthy trains, since they obstruct guest movement and make it difficult to arrange seating in the theater.
According to a Cannes Festival rule, it’s important to note that public nudity is not allowed on the red carpet or any other part of the festival for reasons of decency.
At the festival, those who are part of the welcome teams will need to enforce the rule that only individuals adhering to these guidelines will be allowed on the red carpet.
A fresh set of unexpected policies have been introduced in the latest festival attendees’ guidebook, which also includes guidelines on appropriate public conduct during events.

Visitors should gather at the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière, where they’ll find some of the most prestigious movie showcases over a bustling seven-day period, during the Cannes Film Festival.
It’s clear that the well-known location has shifted towards a stricter dress code, favoring formal attire such as suits, tuxedos, and long evening gowns instead of attention-attracting outfits.
In addition to the traditional little black dresses, formal cocktail attire, pantsuits, fancy blouses, and refined sandals (either with or without a heel) are acceptable as well.
It’s uncertain whether French TV broadcasters, cautious about showing nudity, might have influenced the initial application of this stricter policy.
Significant high-profile events such as the Cannes Film Festival are broadcasted on French television by France Television.
Lately, the yearly event has been drawing in a greater number of models and influencers rather than actors and movie creators. This shift has led to a rise in bold and daring fashion choices on the red carpet.
In the year 2021, renowned American model Bella Hadid showcased her décolletage in a deep-necklined black dress at a showing of Tre Piani (Three Floors).
In a similar fashion, she repeated the trick about three years on, leaving attendees of the 2024 gala spellbound when she showed up at the premiere of Donald Trump’s biopic “The Apprentice” without a bra under a translucent brown evening gown.
