Tory Lanez Stabbed 14 Times in Prison

The individual accused of stabbing the incarcerated rapper, Tory Lanez, has been recognized and is currently serving a life term for a charge related to murder.

32-year-old musician endured critical wounds when he was repeatedly stabbed 14 times in a correctional facility located in Tehachapi, California, on the early morning of this week.

Santino Casio, a 42-year-old individual under suspicion, is currently being held in isolated quarters as an investigation ensues, reports TMZ.

In court, Casio was given a life imprisonment term with the chance for early release through parole, for charges including the premeditated murder in the second degree, an attempt at first-degree murder, using a hazardous or lethal weapon personally, and causing severe physical harm.

Casio has allegedly been part of another violent altercation while he was imprisoned prior to the reported stabbing of Lanez, who is now incarcerated for ten years following an incident where he shot Megan Thee Stallion in her feet about four and a half years back.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Casio received a six-year sentence due to his actions of attacking an inmate using a potentially lethal weapon or force that could inflict severe physical harm.

He also reportedly received a two-year sentence for possessing or manufacturing a deadly weapon.

He has been in prison in Los Angeles County since February 2004.

On Monday afternoon, Tory’s team revealed that he had been stabbed via a statement on Instagram.

The statement revealed that Tory had suffered a total of 14 stab wounds. Among these were seven on his back, four on his chest, two at the back of his head, and one on the left side of his face.

According to his team, Lanez is currently able to breathe independently following the collapse of both his lungs, which required him to be connected to a ventilator.

Lanez’s representatives stated that, although he’s experiencing discomfort, he’s managing to speak clearly, maintaining a positive attitude, and expressing profound gratitude towards God for his recovery progress.

‘He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.’

At approximately 7:20 a.m., it was confirmed by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to DailyMail.com that Lanez had been attacked at his housing unit.

Upon receiving the situation, staff swiftly acted, dialing 911 and providing immediate first-aid. Later, Peterson was transferred to a nearby hospital for additional medical care, as reported by Pedro Calderón Michel, the deputy press secretary, to DailyMail.com.

The Incident is currently under investigation by both the Investigative Services Unit of the California Coalition for Immigration (CCI) and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, the Office of the Inspector General has been informed about it as well.

A trusted source informed TMZ that Lanez was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in Bakersfield, approximately an hour’s drive away.

Page Six reports Lanez was stabbed numerous times in the face.

DailyMail.com have contacted Lanez’s team for comment.

At present, Lanez is incarcerated for a decade due to his involvement in shooting hip-hop artist Megan Thee Stallion in her feet.

In December 2022, he was found guilty of committing assault using a semi-automatic gun, possessing an unregistered and loaded firearm in his car, and recklessly firing the weapon.

On Tuesday in August 2023, Lanez was given a 10-year prison term at the Los Angeles Superior Court, following three felony convictions linked to an incident that occurred in the Hollywood Hills back in July 2020.

During the sentencing, Judge David Herriford remarked that the favorable images of Lanez as depicted by his family and acquaintances during the trial seemed hard to align with his behavior towards Megan.

Occasionally, even good individuals can commit wrongdoings, as Mr. Herriford stated before the court, based on AP’s report. Actions always bring about repercussions, and unfortunately, nobody emerges victorious in this situation.

During the court proceedings, Megan provided testimony stating that Lanez fired shots at her feet and demanded she dance, all while she was exiting an SUV after a party held at Kylie Jenner’s residence.

Initially, Megan didn’t openly name Lanez as the shooter, but later testified that she needed surgery to remove bullet shards from her feet.

Ever since the defendant brutally shot me, I haven’t known a moment of tranquility,” the songstress expressed in a statement that was read aloud before sentencing. “I’m gradually recovering and making progress, but I will always bear the scars.

Before his sentence was announced, Lanez, who potentially faced imprisonment for up to 22 years, pleaded with the judge for leniency, expressing remorse for the incident looking back on it.

Lanez expressed to the judge that if he could rewind the sequence of events from that night and make different choices, he would do so. He considered the victim as his friend.

“To this very day, the person harmed continues to be someone I hold dear. I wholeheartedly accept the blame for any mistakes I made during that unfortunate incident.

Lanez received credit for ten months spent in custody following his conviction in December, which means he’s serving less time due to the time already served before sentencing.

Lanez’s primary attorney, Jose Baez, expressed deep disappointment with the verdict, stating that it seemed to be primarily intended to serve as a warning or example, given the rapper’s celebrity status.

Baez stated, “He’s not someone to be used as an example – he’s a fellow human being. In my experience, I’ve witnessed cases involving vehicular homicide and other situations with fatalities, and yet, the offender often receives less than ten years in prison.

In February, his legal team submitted an appeal, citing two main reasons: alleged incorrect inclusion of evidence and improper behavior by the prosecutor, as reported by Us Weekly.

The district attorneys commended Megan for her bravery in reporting the situation with Lanez, despite facing harsh criticism and ridicule online.

LA County District Attorney George Gascón expressed the hope that the courage shown by Miss Pete might inspire others who feel powerless.

During his imprisonment, Lanez’s Instagram activity has continued, and recently, he posted a picture that seemed like it was taken inside a prison, along with other individuals.
