Top 10 Dragon Ball Super Dragon Team Members Ranked
In the early days, before the champions in “ ” were generally known as the Z-Fighters, they went by the name Dragon Team. Although this moniker fits the team better within the storyline, it’s less popular with current fans. However, it remains significant due to the dual nature of Goku’s companionship group. In essence, if only Goku and his fellow warriors from “Dragon Ball Z ” onward are classified as Z-Fighters, then everyone else – combatants like Bulma and Mr. Satan – falls under the broader category of Dragon Team.
In the animated series “Dragon Ball Super”, the Dragon Squad consists primarily of Goku and his companions, boasting some of the most powerful fighters from the realm of anime. However, it’s important to note that this squad doesn’t include minor allies who briefly joined forces with Goku but didn’t maintain a lasting relationship, nor any temporary fusions between the Z-Fighters. The Dragon Squad essentially functions as an extended family for Goku, excluding characters like Merus, Gamma 1, Granolah, and alternate versions of himself.
Uub Should Be Nearly as Strong as He Was During the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament
At the conclusion of the Super Hero Saga, Uub has yet to join the Dragon Team, but his time is running short until he does so according to prophecy. In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Uub made a personal appearance and every Dragon Ball fan recognizes that Uub is the reborn form of Kid Buu, who will eventually become Goku’s apprentice in the future. It’s also clear just how powerful he’ll be when Dragon Ball Super reaches its current timeline position within the next year.
In the closing stage of “Z”, Uub squares off against base Goku during the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, demonstrating remarkable resilience that left fans in awe. However, it was only with the release of Dragon Ball Super that the audience fully understood the formidable strength Uub displayed in this battle. With five years of training under Whis and the ability to access Ultra Instinct, even fighters like Goten, Trunks, and Pan would struggle against him, even if he were in his base form.
Buu Has Scored Wins Against Goku & Basil in Dragon Ball Super
In the series Dragon Ball Super, Majin Buu may be far more powerful than he initially appears, yet his infrequent appearances limit the extent of this power’s display. Despite this, when given the opportunity, he consistently leaves a lasting impression. Interestingly, Buu has managed to overcome Basil the Kicker, the third-strongest combatant in Universe 9, and even engaged in a brief sparring session with Base Goku.
The key understanding of Buu’s capabilities originates from the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. While under the authority of Grand Supreme Kai, Buu demonstrates significant fighting prowess against Moro. If he can access that level of power personally, Buu would swiftly regain his position as one of Earth’s mightiest protectors.
Future Trunks Defeated Fused Zamasu With the Sword of Hope
Initially, Future Trunks was debatably a Z-Fighter but not a Dragon Team member. However, his significant role in “Dragon Ball Super” has solidified his membership in both groups. He is no longer merely the time traveler who requested help from the contemporary heroes; he’s now an integral part of the family with distinctive connections to many characters. Although Future Trunks isn’t as powerful as the other adult Saiyans, there’s a noticeable gap between his strength and theirs that’s not as wide as it could be.
Over the course of the Future Trunks Saga, I’ve witnessed an astonishing surge in this time-traveling warrior’s power. Initially, Super Saiyan 2 was his pinnacle, a form that barely allowed him to engage Goku Black. However, by the saga’s end, he had unlocked the Super Saiyan Rage transformation and demonstrated the ability to fell Fused Zamasu. Given it’s been quite some time since we last saw Future Trunks, it seems reasonable to assume that his strength has continued to grow in those years.
Android 18 Has Always Only Been Slightly Weaker Than Android 17
Similar to several characters in Dragon Ball Super, Android 18 experiences a significant, unspecified power-up when it’s her turn to take a leading role. Contrary to expectation, Android 18 demonstrates the ability to engage in synchronized combat with Android 17 during the Tournament of Power, both before and throughout this event. Notably, their teamwork never hampers his performance.
Android 18 seizes her chance to showcase her prowess during her battle against Ribrianne in the Tournament of Power. In this confrontation, she manages to subdue the most powerful fighter from Universe 2 without sustaining significant injuries. Later on, in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Android 18 single-handedly overpowers one of Moro Corps’ strongest members, Shimorekka, and along with Android 17, she defeats their second most powerful member, Seven-Three.
Android 17 Survives Long Enough to Win the Tournament of Power
In Dragon Ball Super, Android 17 has gained immense popularity. This fame wouldn’t have been possible without his incredible power boost. During the Universe Survival Saga, it’s revealed that Android 17 has been training since the Cell Saga, and he often matches up with Super Saiyan Blue Goku in terms of fighting ability. His impressive skills as a fighter are what make him look cool throughout the Tournament of Power, and ultimately lead to his victory in the entire competition.
During the Tournament of Power, Android 17 demonstrates his strength not only by defeating numerous skilled combatants but also by acting as a crucial support fighter. Despite being unable to defeat powerhouses like Jiren and Top on his own, he proves to be formidable enough to pose a challenge to the strongest mortal and a potential God of Destruction candidate. By aiding others, he helps them to overcome these mighty adversaries. Later, in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Android 17 plays a pivotal role alongside Android 18, leading to their triumph over Seven-Three, the second most powerful member of the Moro Corps.
Piccolo’s Orange Form Enables Him to Fight Against Enemies Like Cell Max
Before the release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Piccolo’s strength had significantly declined, making him the least powerful non-human Z-Fighter. However, through some meditation and a wish granted by Shenron, everything has dramatically shifted. With his new “Orange” transformation, Piccolo has become one of the strongest mortals across the multiverse.
In the Super Hero Saga, Piccolo demonstrates his current power level through two significant battles. Firstly, as Orange Piccolo, he overpowers Gamma 2, a foe he had previously compared to Goku and Vegeta. Later on, in his battle against Cell Max, Piccolo faces defeat. However, it’s implied that if circumstances had been different, specifically if he hadn’t put Gohan’s protection above his own victory, the outcome could have been different.
Ultra Ego Didn’t Give Vegeta the Edge He Needed to Defeat Granolah
In the wake of the Dragon Ball Super anime’s finale, Vegeta has picked up a number of fresh moves. His Forced Spirit Fission ability leaves any fused enemies powerless against him. Moreover, his Ultra Ego transformation has enabled him to keep pace with Goku. Remarkably, in his base form alone, Vegeta managed to outperform Goku during their sparring session in Super Hero, securing the victory.
Despite the significant progress Vegeta has made, he continues to be a recurring target for battles in “Dragon Ball”. More recently, he hasn’t been able to defeat either Jiren or Gas, not even with his Ultra Ego power. While Vegeta has surpassed both these antagonists in terms of strength, his control over the Ultra Ego is still less proficient than Goku’s command of the Ultra Instinct.
Broly Hasn’t Even Accessed Any High-Level Transformations Yet
In his debut film, Broly immediately proved himself among the most formidable warriors in existence. Living up to his legendary status, this Super Saiyan possesses such immense power that he can effortlessly overpower Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza – even without using God ki. The three strongest warriors of Universe 7 find themselves utterly powerless against him as his rage fuels an unyielding will to fight relentlessly.
To overcome Broly in the movie, Goku and Vegeta mustn’t just fuse to form Gogeta, but they also need to utilize their Super Saiyan Blue form. However, the helplessness of Broly in the movie does not reflect his current abilities. Similar to other Saiyans, Broly has persistently trained, and now he’s often used as a sparring partner for both Goku and Vegeta.
Gohan’s Power Overwhelms Goku During Their Most Recent Fight
In the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gohan transitions from being Earth’s least powerful adult Saiyan to possessing the greatest power level. His fury is boundless, which has led to his acquisition of the “Beast” form. With this transformation, Gohan effortlessly overpowers Cell Max, a foe who had previously defeated Gotenks, Android 18, Krillin, and Orange Piccolo.
In the comic version of Dragon Ball Super, Beast Gohan is exceptionally striking compared to his appearance in the animated series. Towards the end of the storyline before its pause, Gohan battles against Goku for the very first time, a fight that remains unresolved. However, when their energy blasts clash, it becomes evidently clear that Beast Gohan holds the upper hand.
Goku Possesses the Greatest Balance of Strength & Skill Among the Dragon Team
Typically speaking, while Goku isn’t the strongest character in Dragon Ball Super in terms of absolute power, he stands out as the most powerful member of the Dragon Team. Compared to Vegeta, his Base form might not be as strong, and his overall physical strength might trail behind Gohan’s and Broly’s, but these differences are negligible when considering all the advantages Goku possesses. Among the four adult Saiyans, Goku is undeniably the strongest, and he is the only one capable of harnessing the power of Ultra Instinct.
Due to Ultra Instinct enabling Goku’s body to act autonomously, his defense outclasses any other member of the Dragon Team significantly. In his initial usage of Perfected Ultra Instinct, he came very close to defeating Jiren, and later on, he managed to defeat Moro. With the power of True Ultra Instinct, Goku gets considerably closer to defeating Gas than Granolah. In the latest manga chapters, Goku fights on equal terms with Beast Gohan, and more notably, it is revealed that his mastery over Ultra Instinct has made his Perfected form stronger than his True form.
