Ovrkast. Reveals Release Info for His Sophomore Album

It was revealed that Oakland’s own artist, Ovrkast., has made his next move. Following the announcement of joining Saba on his upcoming The Big Picture Tour, Ovrkast. recently announced his new LP, which will be his second studio album.

Meanwhile, when the moment is ripe, the burgeoning talent from California will unveil his upcoming project towards the end of this month. He has been building anticipation for its release with his lead single “I’M ON,” accompanied by a dramatic new music video and a live beat-making event hosted by him at NYC’s Essx streetwear outpost last week.

Previously announced, “Small Talk” featuring Samara Cyn is expected to appear on the playlist; however, the exact position has not been disclosed as of now.

Ovrkast is set to unveil its first comprehensive album in half a decade, with a press release hinting at a contemporary feel. Reminiscent of the sample-rich production and lyrically-focused ethos characteristic of hip-hop’s golden era, this upcoming release promises a revitalizing blend of old and new.

Indeed, the journey has been prolonged, filled with significant transformation, heartbreaking losses, and eventually, it led me to find the necessary clarity and concentration to produce an album of this caliber, as the rapper expressed in his Instagram post.

This work is the one I’m most proud of yet, and it required a significant investment of time, not just from me, but also my team.
