Not a Single Person Made It Special
Australian personality and radio host, Amy Gerard, has used online platforms to express her unsatisfying Mother’s Day encounter.
On Sundays, she used her stories to criticize her own family instead of celebrating them as intended for all mothers on their special day.
The radio host on KIIS FM shared an image of a peaceful sunset river scene, accompanied by a description of her feelings of sorrow in the post’s caption.
‘Amy wrote, ‘There’s nothing quite as poignant as Mother’s Day to truly bring into focus just how undervalued and underappreciated one might feel.’
‘On a certain day, none of my relatives were able to join the celebration. Next year, I’ll be heading to Paris instead.’
On the next day, the host of Beyond the Likes podcast shared a sequence of videos in her stories detailing the events that prompted her sad social media post.

Amy admitted she was glad Mother’s Day was over after being ‘put out’ by her family.
‘You know I feel like I am very low maintenance,’ she said.
‘I really don’t ask for much. I don’t expect gifts.’
Amy mentioned that she ultimately found herself managing daily household tasks as well as handling her kids who grew argumentative throughout the day.
She went on, “I’m not sure… perhaps it might have been my mistake as I may have had only a slight hope for something like a cup of tea or breakfast in bed.
I hadn’t envisioned myself being occupied with endless laundry, mowing the lawn, extinguishing small fires, mediating disputes, and dealing with aggressive dog behavior on a regular basis.
To put it simply, I should have known better, given that I handle such situations often. However, I underestimated the situation on Mother’s Day, realizing now it wouldn’t turn out differently.
‘And so I basically just got on with my day and I was just whatever.’

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share Amy’s dramatic tale. After her kids alternated their mischief, targeting her on two separate occasions, she had reached her breaking point. In exasperation, she exclaimed, “That’s it!” and stormed out of the house.
Sitting by a river Amy started to plan for Mother’s Day next year.
‘I’m associated with various brands that emphasize allowing mothers to have a break, and that is exactly what I plan on doing next year.’
Amy, mother to Charli, Bobby, and Kobe, along with her husband Rhian, received numerous compassionate messages from her followers following her Mother’s Day post.
She mentioned, “It’s heartbreaking to realize that I received around 2000 responses from other mothers on Mother’s Day, expressing their feelings of low self-worth and sadness.
‘It’s one f***ing day guys, its one f***ing day.
Additionally, I deeply apologize to those mothers who didn’t receive the appreciation and love they deserved, feeling undervalued instead of celebrated as the remarkable queens that you truly are. The tireless work you do is often overlooked, which is most unfortunate.
Should you be blessed with a remarkable companion and cherished children who consistently make you feel valued, I must say, it brings immense joy to my heart. After all, such experiences of love and appreciation are truly deserving for everyone.
‘That’s what all the mums deserve.’
