Taylor Swift has had enough.

It’s been reported that the renowned pop star received a court summons on Friday, requiring her to testify in the legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Although she managed to maintain a strong front during her weekend in Philadelphia, joining her boyfriend Travis Kelce and their mothers for Mother’s Day lunch, it’s clear that Taylor Swift, aged 35, has been deeply affected and is currently feeling quite distressed due to the ongoing legal developments.

And not least because she feels betrayed and ‘exploited’ by her longtime friend, Lively.

Prior to the current year, Taylor Swift considered Blake Lively as one of her most trusted friends. They reside in close proximity, being neighbors in the fashionable Tribeca district of New York City, and Swift serves as a godmother to Lively’s three children.

However, matters took a turn for the worse in December, as Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, her fellow actor and director in the movie adaption of the acclaimed Colleen Hoover novel, “It Ends With Us.”

In December, Lively’s relationship with Baldoni, her co-star and director on the It Ends With Us film adaptation, took a turn for the worse when she decided to sue him.

Or:
A lawsuit was filed by Lively against Baldoni, her co-star and director in the movie version of Colleen Hoover’s “It Ends With Us,” causing tension in December.

In a lively statement, Lively alleged that Baldoni had engaged in sexual harassment and orchestrated a malicious gossip campaign against her.

Later, in January, when Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband Reynolds, aged 48, alleging defamation, Swift became embroiled in the situation as well.

In Baldoni’s records, there were snapshots of text conversations and emails mentioning Swift. There was an awkward conversation reportedly involving Lively, where she referred to herself as a character from Game of Thrones (Khaleesi) and Swift as one of her ‘dragon’ companions.

Additionally, Baldoni stated that Swift attended a crucial gathering regarding the film, orchestrated by Lively and Reynolds in their Manhattan penthouse. However, someone close to Swift reported that she merely showed up when the meeting was already in progress, and held no active role.

Reportedly, the entire incident made Swift feel as if Lively had taken advantage of her, leading her to distance herself from their relationship. She decided to take a break and step away.

However, despite all parties refuting the claims, there’s a hint that Swift may have played a greater role in the creation of “It Ends With Us” than she publicly acknowledges.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can share an intriguing piece of trivia: It was reported that I played a role in selecting Isabela Ferrer to portray the younger version of Lily Bloom, a character brilliantly brought to life by Blake Lively.

Swift fervently denies this. 

According to the Daily Mail, it’s been made clear that the rumor suggesting Taylor selected Lily at a young age for casting was never true. This subpoena, however, appears to be investigating matters and situations that didn’t happen in reality.

That chimes with a statement released on Friday, moments after Swift was subpoenaed as a witness.

A representative for Taylor Swift stated that she never visited the set of this movie, had no part in casting or creative decisions, didn’t compose the film’s music, and didn’t watch any edits or provide feedback on it. She also didn’t see “It Ends With Us” until after its public premiere. The only connection she had to this film was allowing them to use one of her songs, “My Tears Ricochet,” on the soundtrack.

It’s not surprising, really, that Swift might feel wronged, given she claims no involvement in the intense court battle surrounding a movie, which she finds herself at the heart of.

Moreover, although Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney, issued the subpoena to Swift, it is believed that Swift holds Lively responsible for her unintended entanglement, as she feels exasperated by the situation.

It’s been clear for some time that Blake has been taking advantage of Taylor’s name, but the serving of this subpoena escalates the situation significantly, as we have come to understand.

The heartbreaking conclusion of a friendship lasting over a decade seems irrevocable. Yet, in the face of the heated It Ends With Us court case, Taylor Swift may find herself drawn into more developments.

Representatives for Lively did not respond to requests for comment. 

Regarding Friday’s subpoena statement, a representative for Lively commented: “Mr. Baldoni persists in transforming allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation into fodder for tabloids. He even proposed selling tickets to Madison Square Garden for Ms. Lively’s deposition, and has gone so far as to subpoena Taylor Swift, a woman who has empowered millions globally.
