Maura Higgins Dazzles in Backless Gown at BAFTA TV Awards After Scandal

At the BAFTA TV Awards held in London on Sunday, Maura Higgins captured everyone’s gaze in a grand, sky-blue, backless dress while striking numerous poses with panache.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: This year, following my unexpected moment at the BRITs afterparty with Danny Jones, I graced the red carpet once more, beaming my radiant smile for all to see.

Maura confidently displayed an awe-inspiring physique, opting not to wear a bra underneath a bold, halterneck dress that shimmered and gracefully flowed into a floor-length skirt.

She stood tall, donning a pair of high heels and adorning herself with elegant silver drop earrings.

The model styled her short brown hair into a chic half-up style, while sporting a glamorous range of makeup.

The model pulled back half of her short, dark hair and adorned herself with a glamorous assortment of makeup.

With a sleek half-up hairstyle on her bobbed brunette locks, the model donned a glamorous palette of cosmetics.

The popular television host created quite a buzz while walking the red carpet, an event that took place at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.

This is Maura’s first red carpet appearance since that kiss with McFly’s Danny earlier this year.

In March, the popular Love Island personality and the 39-year-old band member from McFly made news when they were seen sharing an intimate moment at the post-BRIT Awards party hosted by Universal Music.

It’s reported that Danny and his wife, Georgia (aged 38), are no longer in a typical marital relationship. Although they reside together, they effectively lead independent lives.

Danny and Maura have largely avoided attending public functions due to the scandal, but it’s said that at the BAFTAs, she won’t respond to queries regarding the kiss.

It’s said that she won’t encounter an uncomfortable reunion with Danny because he’s planning to miss the event in order to prevent any misunderstandings with his spouse.

On Sunday, the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards, sponsored by P&O Cruises, will be held at the Royal Festival Hall located at the Southbank Centre.

The highly anticipated event is filled with renowned personalities who will receive awards honoring exceptional TV work, and an exciting array of impressive performances.

Notable musicians Jessie J and Tom Grennan are slated to perform at an upcoming event, with dynamic Jessie debuting “The Award Goes To” as her first television appearance in half a decade.

As a die-hard fan bursting with excitement, I can hardly contain myself! The one and only, multi-platinum pop sensation, Tom, is set to unveil his fresh new hit, Full Attention, exclusively on television! This is going to be epic!

The award show on BBC One and BBC iPlayer will broadcast both performances this coming Sunday, May 11th, starting at 7pm.

Furthermore, BAFTA has verified that award-winning violinist and social media phenom, Esther Abrami, will be playing Apple Tree as part of the In Memoriam tribute.

Reflecting on my return to British television after a long hiatus, I can honestly say it was truly an honor. Yet, as thrilled as I am, the big question remains: who among us will be recognized with the award? That’s the real mystery.

I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to take part in the illustrious BAFTA event, sharing the stage with so many renowned actors and visionaries in the creative industry. What an honor!

For the very first time, renowned Scottish figure Alan Cumming is set to emcee the glamorous event.

Emma Baehr, the Executive Director of Awards & Content at BAFTA, expressed her pleasure about Alan Cumming serving as the host for this year’s BAFTA Television Awards alongside P&O Cruises.

At Britain’s grand television awards event on Sunday, 11th May, you can anticipate an unpredictable blend of playfulness and mischief as he takes center stage.

In another part of the world, I’ve learned about the nominees for the 2025 P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award at the BAFTA Television Awards.

Six highly praised television series from Gavin and Stacey, The Traitors, and Bridgerton, among others, will compete for one of the night’s top awards at this year’s televised event.

In this category, it’s the public who get a chance to express their preference by voting for their most preferred scene.

Last year’s BAFTA Television Awards attracted approximately 2.7 million viewers on BBC One and iPlayer. Additionally, social media coverage of the event garnered over 7 million views.

For the very first time in its 20-year span, Strictly Come Dancing was not nominated in any category, a departure from previous years.

Since the revamped show debuted in 2004, the program most loved by the BBC has consistently received a nomination in the Entertainment Programme category each year that followed.

baby Reindeer, the hit series on Netflix, garnered an impressive eight nominations, making waves around the world since its debut last year and dominating the list of contenders.

Richard Gadd, who penned and played a role based on his personal encounters with stalking, has been nominated for the Leading Actor category, while his fellow cast member, Jessica Gunning, is contending for the Supporting Actress accolade.

In the category of Limited Drama, the show “Baby Reindeer” will go up against “Mr. Bates vs The Post Office,” a drama on ITV that recounts one of the most significant miscarriages of justice in British legal history. This case saw countless innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses falsely accused of theft, fraud, and accounting irregularities due to a faulty computer system.

In the nomination count, Mr. Bates versus The Post Office, Disney’s Rivals series, and Apple TV’s Slow Horses all tied with a total of six nominations each.

Among those nominated for top entertainment performances are Ant & Dec, The Traitors, and Stacey Solomon’s Life-Sorting Show.

Here are the six leading actress nominees: Anna Maxwell Martin (for her role in Until I Kill You), Billie Piper (in Scoop), Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing), Marisa Abela (Industry), Monica Dolan (Mr Bates vs The Post Office), and Sharon D Clarke (in Mr Loverman).

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but feel an exhilarating sense of anticipation as David Tennant (Rivals), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Lennie James (Mr Loverman), Martin Freeman (The Responder), and the extraordinary Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office) prepare to go head-to-head in the pursuit of the coveted best actor accolade. Each of these talented gentlemen has captivated me with their exceptional performances, and I can’t wait to see who emerges victorious!

21 of the 44 candidates nominated in the performance categories are first-timers at the BAFTA Television Awards.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’m thrilled to share that I, too, have joined the ranks of those receiving my first BAFTA nomination! This recognition is in the outstanding category of Best Male Comedy Performance, all thanks to my role in Mr. Bigstuff. It’s an incredible honor and a testament to the power of humor and good storytelling.

In the esteemed “Best Drama” category, the gritty crime dramas Blue Lights and Sherwood will compete against the popular superhero series Supacell and the critically-acclaimed historical drama Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light.

Jane Millichip, the CEO of Bafta, stated that the year 2024 was exceptional in television, as evidenced by the 134 outstanding programs put forth for nomination by Bafta members.

Television’s capacity to spark nationwide discussions, delve into compelling narratives that resonate with the public, and catalyze societal transformation is unparalleled. What makes it even more remarkable is its ability to achieve this across all genres.

As a devoted enthusiast, I find myself captivated by the diversity of this year’s nominees. They encompass the raw passion of sports, the relatability of fictional narratives, the emotional depth of documentaries, the poignant humor of comedies, and the thought-provoking seriousness that keeps us engaged – all mirroring various facets of our shared human experience.

As a connoisseur of fine entertainment, I am thrilled to share that the UK’s television scene is truly shining at its brightest. It is an honor for Bafta to present the outstanding work of our exceptionally gifted nominees at the Bafta Television Craft Awards and Bafta Television Awards with P&O Cruises. Mark your calendars for May 11th, as you won’t want to miss the unveiling of this year’s winners on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. This special event is not just about discovering who takes home the award, but also about fueling your curiosity and helping you curate an inspiring list of programs to enjoy next.

Once more, Casillero del Diablo, our chosen wine sponsor for the event, will be the preferred drink for winners, nominees, stars, and special guests.
