The power of Muay Thai shakes up TEKKEN 8: Fahkumram joins the game
In the second expansion pack for TEKKEN 8, the returning character is none other than Fahkumram. However, not all fans are thrilled with his comeback to the fighting game franchise.
At Evo Japan 2025, I was thrilled to learn who would be joining Tekken 8 following Anna Williams. The kick-off tournament of the Tekken World Tour 2025 served as a fantastic platform for the developers to unveil their strategies for tweaking balances in Season 2 and introducing fresh fighters to the roster.
In line with our earlier mention, the character appearing in Season 2 hails from previous versions of TEKKEN 8. The fearsome Muay Thai warrior, Fahkumram, makes his return!
Fahkumram in TEKKEN 8: Reveal
The unveiling of Fahkumram was included in the expanded plan for TEKKEN 8 Season 2, which outlines all the updates the game will receive during spring and summer.
1) Once it’s been verified that additional balancing tweaks have been incorporated into the plans and all visual updates are displayed, the trailer offers a glimpse of Fahkumram making his comeback.
Amidst a fierce storm, a box descends from the heavens, releasing Fahkumram within. With swift movements, he breaks free from his confinement. Clearly, he’s prepared for combat.
“You’re my next victim.”

Fahkumram gameplay
As a die-hard Tekken fan, I’ve got to admit, I’m in the dark about what’s cooking with Fahkumram in TEKKEN 8. However, based on how they’re shaking things up with Anna Williams, it’s clear we’re in for some major character overhauls!
At the Combo Breaker 2025 esports event for fighting games, the gameplay trailer for Fahkumram will be unveiled during the TEKKEN 8 tournament, which is scheduled for May 25th.
In TEKKEN 7, Fahkumram adopts a conventional Muay Thai combat approach, incorporating not only fists and feet but also knees and elbows. His fighting style is predominantly aggressive, relying on strategic mix-ups to expose his opponents. During his debut in the TEKKEN series, Fahkumram boasts special charge-up attacks and gains an advantage when he pushes opponents against the wall.
The community’s reaction
A significant number of players express dissatisfaction with this selection. The primary reasons for their discontent can be categorized as follows:
A lot of players aren’t content with the decision that was made. They tend to fall into a few key groups when explaining why they feel this way:
- People want someone else from the legacy roster.
- Fahkumram was a DLC character in TEKKEN 7, and Bandai Namco just repeats the same pattern.
- The character looks mainly the same.
- He was too strong, so we don’t want him. Prepare nerfs!
The enthusiasm for the new character remains strong, with some TEKKEN enthusiasts eagerly embracing the addition. Perhaps they were previously engaged with Fahkumram in TEKKEN 7, ready to resume their domination of opponents once more?
The assorted responses can be seen clearly displayed within this social media post from Knee, the victorious champion of TEKKEN 8 Evo Japan 2025.
TEKKEN 8 Season 2 DLC characters
In the second season, the game is set to introduce four additional playable characters. Besides Anna Williams and Fahkumram, there’s also going to be a familiar face making a comeback, as well as a brand-new contender joining the fray.
In the upcoming period, numerous fighting games will introduce fresh characters. For instance, Elena is now part of Street Fighter 6, and Andy Bogard has been confirmed for FATAL FURY: The Orochi Warrior. This is an exhilarating era for fans who love these types of games!
