Doctor Who spoilers follow.
Viewers of Doctor Who were thrilled when Jo Martin reprised her beloved character in the most recent installment.
On May 10th, I found myself immersed in an exciting episode of ‘The Story & The Engine’, where I made a surprise appearance as the Fugitive Doctor. In this installment, Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor dropped by his preferred barbershop in bustling Lagos, Nigeria, and got embroiled in a complex mystery that demanded quick wits to unravel.
In this scenario, Abena (Michelle Asante), acting as the barber’s assistant, accused the doctor of failing her during a past event. This was when the trickster Anansi had wagered with the Time Lord to make her marry one of his daughters. The camera then shifted to reveal the Doctor, played by Martin instead of Gatwa, standing where the Doctor should be.
“I was a fugitive back then,” she said. “Anansi was wrong to offer that bet.
“And frankly, darling, I was busy in a different story – that might be finished one day…”

Regardless of its short duration, the impromptu guest appearance was a delightful shock to many show enthusiasts. One spectator on Bluesky exclaimed: “Warning: Doctor Who spoilers!!! //// Spotting Jo Martin once more, I cheered! Seeing three, nine, twelve, and thasmin in archived clips, I let out a shout!
Another fan expressed their joy upon seeing Jo Martin: “I’m thrilled to see her! She plays the enigmatic doctor without a number and the fugitive doctor from an alternate timeline. Whenever they assemble all the doctors, it’s always disappointing that she isn’t among them.
One enthusiastic viewer exclaimed once more about Jo Martin’s fantastic portrayal of The Doctor, expressing joy that this phase of the character is recognizing her and continuing her storyline. They even hinted at potential future developments for this incarnation… #DoctorWho #DoctorWhoSpoilers.

Plus, we got to enjoy more of the delightful Jo Martin. Definitely deserving a 10/10 rating! #DoctorWho
