Dawn Ward’s Facelift Controversy: RHOC Star Reveals All on Her Return

At the age of 50, Dawn Ward decided to treat herself to an extravagant birthday gift – a facial rejuvenation procedure.

Indeed, it’s hardly surprising that she opted for something more than just a spa retreat; after all, she’s not only a stylish WAG but also a renowned reality TV personality, originally featured on Real Housewives Of Cheshire. A simple spa vacation wouldn’t suffice for someone of her status.

However, Dawn, who is a mother to four girls and a nanna to five granddaughters, found herself contemplating ways to reverse the passage of time for another significant reason.

She was asked to return to the program where she initially gained fame, along with many adversaries due to her sharp wit and strong opinions, as a special guest for its milestone tenth anniversary.

In other words, exactly seven weeks prior to confronting her long-standing adversaries again, and following a tumultuous exit five years back that led her to move to Dubai, Dawn opted for surgery. She acknowledges that the timing wasn’t ideal.

She mentioned during her interview with The Mail that she underwent a comprehensive and deeply invasive facelift procedure known as the “deep plate” lift.

‘They stretch the skin back. If you’re uncomfortable with yourself, feel free to [do something]. Throughout my life, I’ve maintained a slender build, and I’ve often wondered if being extremely thin speeds up the aging process. Recently, I’ve been particularly displeased with my neck.’

I’ve had cosmetic procedures like fillers and skin tightening; I call them minor nips and tucks. I’m a strong advocate for early intervention in aging. While many people opt for facelifts in their 50s, 60s, or even 70s, I didn’t want to let loose skin become a problem. Instead, I chose to maintain my youthful appearance while I still have the advantage of being younger.

Upon her return to the program on Monday evening, there was a flurry of discussion on social media about her seemingly swollen features.

At dusk, after hiding inside a towering white confectionary for nearly an hour and a half, Dawn gracefully leaped out, greeted by thunderous applause and the joyful exclamation, “Long live the Queen of Cheshire!

Despite the fact that some fans didn’t identify her, others on social media questioned her appearance with comments such as, “What has she done to her face?” To which she responded, “I’m just swollen from a long flight, I’ve been crying…

At dawn, she confesses that she felt overpowered by coming back. Nevertheless, it remains unclear how the rest of the group will react to her comeback.

The announcement that Dawn would be returning to Real Housewives of Orange County caused a significant stir among the show’s production team last month, and even Dawn herself expressed apprehension about whether they would allow her to rejoin.

However, it was impossible for Dawn, the shining light of the series portraying the extravagant lifestyles of affluent females filled with champagne and cosmetic enhancements, to attend the anniversary special.

At the center of the petty squabbles and acrimonious disputes that kept viewers hooked on the long-running ITV reality show (now in its 18th season) was Dawn, wife of Ashley Ward, a former football player for Manchester City and Barnsley who later became a property tycoon.

Between 2015 and 2020, she was frequently involved in both on-set and off-set conflicts, so many that it seemed like more than the number of manicures she had during that period. It’s said that her actions even pushed one of her colleagues to the verge of a mental breakdown.

Nevertheless, she maintains that the program holds nothing but warm memories for her, admitting that she joined it solely to provide a stepping stone for her daughters Darby (age 29), Taylor (27), Charlie (18) and Aston (16) towards their own future stardom.

Her strategic moves proved fruitful: the eldest two have become prominent figures on social media platforms, while another has established herself as an independent WAG.

She’s equally excited that a variety of family milestones have been immortalized in the video montage, such as birthdays, recommitment ceremonies, and even Taylor earning her driver’s license.

She enthusiastically shares, “There’s nothing negative I can say about the show! To gather all the original cast together again, well, that’s just iconic to me!

Their fights, she insists, were all fuelled by passion.

In our conflicts, it was either due to frustration or intense passion that fueled them, yet beneath it all, the friendships remained sincere. Notably, original cast members like Magali Gorre, Ampika Pickston, and Tanya Bardsley have made appearances as guest housewives once more.

It’s immaterial whether the friendships among the original members, including Leanne Brown who has also re-joined, have been maintained or not.

As a previous confidante of Dawn and the esthetician who once shared life with the retired English and Manchester United soccer star, Wes Brown, I’ve had quite an interesting journey.

She only planned to attend the ten-year anniversary event if she could avoid encountering Dawn.

The two women used to be as close as two peas in a pod, and it seemed like their lives were deeply intertwined to an extent that even the residents of the affluent communities in Cheshire might find hard to grasp if one were to believe the local rumors that swirl around those areas.

Leanne left the company in 2018 following a significant disagreement with Dawn. The specifics of the argument were not disclosed, but it’s reported that money, estimated at £500,000 for a business deal, played a role in this high-profile conflict that became one of the major plot points on the show.

Dawn hasn’t spoken about Leanne for many years but tells me she doesn’t wish her ill.

In every situation, you’ve got two perspectives to consider, and I don’t enjoy dwelling on debates because my preference is focusing on genuine details. However, the reality is, there aren’t any intriguing facts available in this case.

In summary, Leanne is an exceptional mother, with whom I’ve had a strong friendship for many years. Given her significant contributions to the show, she truly deserves to return. Life moves forward, and it’s only fitting that she be a part of it again.

Instead of asking directly if she misses her, he explains that his thoughts are preoccupied with various aspects of his life such as friends, family (daughters), and ongoing activities.

Regarding any possibility of reconciliation, it’s a definite ‘no’. Approximately two years ago, Dawn, who has been with her husband Ashley for nearly 30 years, departed from Cheshire and the £6.5 million, Grade II-Listed mansion Warford Hall – known for its well-tended gardens and dedicated handbag room, where a significant portion of RHOC filming occurred – to embark on a new life in Dubai.

After experiencing some financial troubles, they (She and Ashley) decided to sell their property where they had been residing with their four daughters. Although there were whispers of money issues, Dawn seems to be living comfortably, as I recently learned she was having a great time at a beach resort in Dubai.

There was, though, another motivation behind the move.

In the year 2022, she appeared in court to answer accusations of racially biased harassment toward two Jewish gentlemen, stemming from an argument at Euston Station.

In addition, she faced accusations for having cocaine, as the substance was discovered inside a cigarette box within her handbag. However, she asserted that this was placed there by her household helper. Eventually, all allegations against her were dropped.

Dawn openly shares that the experience transformed her life irreversibly, resulting in PTSD. In simpler terms, she admits it wasn’t just a tough time but it fundamentally altered who she is as a person. She clarifies that the accusations against her were entirely false. Fortunately, 12 jury members ruled her not guilty. However, the ordeal took a toll on her health and personality. She regrets being in such a situation because it happened while she was on television. Despite the joyful moments, the experience was extremely challenging.

She expresses, with a hint of emotion, “I didn’t think I could love my husband this deeply – my children and my husband are my sources of such profound affection.

Although it was incredibly difficult, ultimately fairness triumphed. I may have come across as tough and independent, but surprisingly, there’s a bit of vulnerability in me too – just like seeing a person on TV standing firm and assertive, yet they are also human beings.

‘It was really quite tough but I’ve come through that now.’

Currently, Dawn is a dedicated and loving “Nanna,” though she prefers that term over “grandmother.” She often admonishes me, saying, “Stop calling me ‘grandmother.’ It makes me feel old!

Although her role in the present series is limited, with just three appearances, she’s always open to the possibility of rejoining the show and revisiting Cheshire.

‘We have the memories that we’ve had, we made our stamp,’ she adds. ‘Never say never.’
