Music Legend Ronald Corp Dies at 74: Tributes Flood In for BBC Star
A BBC music star who entertained millions has died aged 74.
Tributes have poured in for conductor and composer Ronald Corp after his sudden death on May 7.
He gained significant recognition for his collaborations with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Proms, the Highgate Choral Society, and the London Chorus.
On Friday, the London Chorus sorrowfully reported: “With deepest regret, we share the heartbreaking news that our cherished Music Director, Ronald Corp, passed away on the 7th of May in Bath.
‘Ron was not simply a highly talented musician, as a composer, conductor and chorus master.
He genuinely cared for everyone as a true friend, always driven by his deep-rooted passion for music and the individuals he collaborated with.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, we share the sad news that renowned composer, conductor, ordained priest, and advocate for English choral music, Ronald Corp OBE, has passed away at the age of 74.
The corporation established both the New London Orchestra and the New London Children’s Choir. This year, it was expected that they would perform one of their own compositions at the Three Choirs Festival held in Hereford.
