Morgan Wallen SNUBS ACMs: Why He’s MIA

On Thursday, the country music community convened in Texas for the Academy of Country Music Awards, yet a major figure was absent from the event.

Tonight, the 31-year-old artist stands a chance to win seven accolades at the ACMs being held at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Reba McEntire is hosting this event.

Although he hasn’t spoken about his non-attendance at the event, he shared an Instagram story showing him playing golf with football legend Tom Brady on Thursday afternoon, and captioned it, “Added a bit of mustard to it.

This renowned country artist isn’t anyone else but Morgan Wallen, set to compete for the title of Entertainer of the Year later tonight, following his popular appearance on SNL several weeks ago.

Ella Langley and Riley Green’s collaboration “You Look Like You Love Me” didn’t win the Single of the Year award, despite Post Malone’s involvement in it.

Additionally, Wallen missed out on both Song of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year awards for his track, as these honors went to “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson respectively.

Additionally, he didn’t win Male Artist of the Year (which went to Chris Stapleton), but he’s still competing for Music Event of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

Instead of making headlines due to his Saturday Night Live performance in late March, it was Wallen’s sudden departure during the show’s closing credits that grabbed attention.

Later on, he shared an image of a personal jet and wrote, “Transport me to the land of God,” which sparked quite a debate.

A few days past, he addressed the uproar and introduced a product range, featuring the slogan prominently on t-shirts and caps, all retailing for $45 each.

On Tuesday, the singer from You Proof posted a picture on his Instagram Story showcasing the designs for his upcoming merchandise. Pre-orders are now open on his official website.

A significant number of people on social networking platforms, among them his supporters, flocked to the platform known as X (previously Twitter), to express their feelings about his latest announcement.

Some speculated whether it was a prank for April Fool’s Day, whereas others praised his handling of the severe critique.

Others have labeled him as a ‘con artist’ and criticized his work for appearing ‘kitschy’ or having the aesthetic of an ‘artificial intelligence creation.’

Additionally, he stirred up controversy by hurling a chair in a fit of jealous anger when Katie Smith resumed her relationship with Luke Scornavacco, her former husband.

In January, it was disclosed by Wallen’s former fiancee, Smith (aged 30), that she and Scornavacco (aged 23) had chosen to end their union, which had only lasted slightly over a year as husband and wife.

In a recent Instagram post, she shared that they mutually chose what’s best for them and their young son, Indigo, at this time.

She mentioned that ‘on both sides, there’s only love,’ and further stated that ‘neither side is at fault.’

I’ve admittedly taken a break from our workouts, and it seems we could both benefit from focusing on becoming our personal best. I’ll be cheering you on from afar!

Smith and Scornavacco started dating in 2023 and got engaged about a year later in March 2024.

Just four days after the proposal, they eloped in Tennessee.
