Wynne Evans Performs at Children’s Charity Event Amid Scandal
Representatives from a charitable organization for children in Wales felt shocked and disappointed upon learning that discredited opera singer, Wynne Evans, would be the surprise performer at their charity luncheon event.
On the Women in Wales Facebook page, a post was shared on Wednesday revealing that the well-known 53-year-old from the popular Go Compare advertisements will be performing at an event happening today.
Back in January, footage from The Mail on Sunday captured the moment when the host of BBC Radio Wales made an extremely offensive sexual remark towards his female co-star, Janette Manrara, during a live performance on the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
Afterward, he was removed from the tour, and the BBC initiated a comprehensive probe that extends beyond the Strictly live event.
On Friday, Wynne is set to captivate the room with his stunning voice, promising a remarkable show for everyone.
After the announcement, Mr. Evans posted happily on his personal social media platform: “I’m grateful to all the organizations, promoters, charities, and individuals who stood by me and didn’t fall for the falsehoods.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I invite everyone to join me on this journey of discovery. Let’s collaborate, brainstorm ideas, and seek out the perfect solution that will bring back the joy and laughter shared over lunchtime conversations once more.
However, when representatives from the charity (known for funding children’s charities and projects in Wales) were contacted about the matter by the Mail, they declared they had no previous awareness of his show and explicitly distanced the organization from the event.
As a committed supporter, I was completely unaware that Wynne Evans was participating, but upon learning about it, I’m left feeling shocked, appalled, and deeply disturbed.
“It contradicts all that we’ve been passionately fighting for, effectively undoing our dedicated efforts. This is intolerable. I refuse any association with it.
Another added: ‘We are a women’s charity, and I am so upset we would be associated with him.’
Previously, Mr. Evans faced criticism from Women’s Aid following a situation where he and his dance partner, Katya Jones, downplayed an inappropriate touch as merely a humorous “inside joke.
Women’s Aid strongly criticized their reaction, stating that “insensitive behavior toward women should not be treated as a joke.
The singer’s partner, Liz Brookes, aged 50, serves as an events manager for Women in Wales, and reportedly stands fully behind him. Their romance has lasted a year, with her being a constant source of support during the challenging period he experienced while participating in Strictly.

In a gathering following the conclusion of his 16-year marriage, Ms. Brookes played a pivotal role in transforming his lifestyle by fostering a passion for fitness and assisting him in improving his physical condition for Strictly.
31 years ago, a children’s charity for women in Wales was established by Dame Shân Legge-Bourke, who served as Princess Anne’s lady-in-waiting. Despite reports suggesting otherwise, sources close to Dame Shân have stated that she is not involved in organizing the recent luncheon and has never been expected to attend it, given her age of 81 years old.
Mr. Evans was reached out to for his perspective. Previously, a source shared with The Sun that he felt mistreated, and his legal team is preparing a detailed document spanning 30 pages to support his claim.
