Something Has Gone Seriously Wrong
Actor Charlie Lawson from Coronation Street has disclosed that there’s been a significant health issue after he was urgently taken to the hospital this past week.
65-year-old actor, famously recognized for portraying Jim McDonald, shared on social platforms that he’s been having difficulty walking due to two recent falls.
He confessed he was in ‘great pain’ and can no long stand on his tip toes.
In the video shared on X, he greeted by saying, “Hello everyone! Frankly, I’m a bit puzzled about what’s going on outside today.
Today’s visit isn’t too bad upon arrival, yet I find myself once more at a specific healthcare facility within Macclesfield Hospital, anticipating a meeting with an osteopath. Fingers crossed, there will be a move to the Spinal Unit at Salford Royal Hospital soon.
The idea is sound, but when we last spoke, I found myself working late from our shared workspace and ended up heading home by 10:30 PM. So, let’s take things as they come.

Encore une fois!!!

I’m managing okay for now, but I’ve been having trouble walking due to some discomfort. The pain is quite intense, and I can’t even stand on my toes at the moment. As a result, lying down feels quite comfortable. If I try to get up, I might lose balance, which suggests there could be something seriously wrong. I’ll make sure to keep you updated. Take care for now!
Accompanying the video, he wrote “Once again!!!” This translates to “Encore une fois!!!” in French, meaning “one more time” or “again”.
Earlier, the well-known figure informed followers that he had a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test done and was anticipating results from a spine specialist following his initial visit to the doctor.
On Wednesday, Charlie publicly disclosed his health issues and subsequently shared on a social media platform that he had been admitted to the hospital following a physical therapy session.
He mentioned: “Greetings everyone, I visited a physiotherapist this morning, who immediately referred me to the Emergency Room, which I went to. They checked me over there. Currently, I’m awaiting the results of an MRI scan.
I’ve been summoned again for further tests, which isn’t exactly great news. Don’t worry though, I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop! They’ve even given me a wristband and it’s quite the experience. I must admit, I’ve taken a tumble twice already, so things seem to be taking an unexpected turn.
In 2023, Charlie got married to his long-term partner Debbie Stanley. He additionally reassured a worried fan that he was just awaiting news from his spine surgeon.
He wrote: ‘Thanks darling, awaiting the opinion of the spinal surgeon. Xxx (sic)’

In the previous year, I, a fervent admirer, was disheartened when Charlie confessed that he doesn’t foresee a return to ‘Corrie’, where he once brilliantly brought Jim to life back in 2018, being extended an invitation to resurrect his role.
In the past, I shared with The Daily Mirror my sentiments about a certain individual: “If he were to pass away in Australia, it wouldn’t surprise me. I believe such an outcome would be a tragic waste of his unique character. Should that happen, I’d undoubtedly raise a glass and pay tribute to him.
However, I shouldn’t feel too devastated since I’ve returned at least seven to eight times between the years 2001 and now, which is quite impressive given it’s 2024.
Since my last visit in 2018, the entire world seems to have undergone a significant transformation. It feels like a shift towards greater awareness and acceptance, which can sometimes appear quite intense or unusual. Everything appears different now.
I’m a bit uncertain about how Jim might respond to 24 different genders in Weatherfield. I think, if the writers were bold enough, he might call it ridiculous.
Jim, well-known for his marriage with the ex-landlady of The Rovers Return, Liz McDonald (portrayed by Beverley Callard), experienced a challenging union due to alcohol dependency issues and unfaithfulness.
In 1997, their marriage ended due to Liz’s infidelity, but they reconciled and remarried in 2000. However, Jim was later incarcerated for the manslaughter of drug dealer Jez Quigley (played by Lee Boardman), who had earlier assaulted his son Steve (Simon Gregson) over a work-related dispute.
In 2011, while Jim was still serving his prison term, Liz divorced him for the second time. In an attempt to reconcile with Liz, he decided to rob a bank in the hope of winning her back. However, this act landed him back in prison once more.
In 2018, Jim reappeared in the show introducing Hannah Gilmore (formerly known as Hannah Ellis Ryan), who he deceptively presented as their long-absent daughter named Katie that they had supposedly lost touch with.
In reality, Hannah was Jim’s girlfriend, and they found themselves under arrest after their involvement in a fraudulent scheme became known.
