In an unexpected turn of events during the mid-season, it’s unveiled that Bronte is part of a group who had been covertly investigating Joe. Their close bond with Beck, whom Joe killed in season one, sparked Bronte’s initial suspicion. As tragic as Beck’s death was, Bronte became intrigued by the mystery surrounding it. It’s almost a relief that Karen didn’t resurface in Joe’s life or the series, as it spared her from further entanglement in his web of chaos.

While I would have enjoyed seeing actress Natalie Paul reprise her role as Karen, there’s no denying that her absence allowed for an intriguing narrative development: the eventual unraveling of Joe Goldberg’s grim criminal legacy. It’s a testament to the power of storytelling when even peripheral characters like Karen can contribute significantly to the overall plot.
