Real Housewives Star Exposes Brutal On-Set Bullying That Made Show Like ‘Mean Girls’
During her stint in the fifth and last season of Bravo’s reality series The Real Housewives of Dallas in 2021, Tiffany Moon didn’t seem to gain many new acquaintances, reportedly because of accusations of on-set bullying.
In her recently released book, “Joy Prescriptions,” the 40-year-old anesthesiologist openly shared that she doesn’t feel remorse about being part of RHOD. However, she expressed a desire for a different group of cast members if given a chance.
Tiffany found herself in a situation reminiscent of the movie “Mean Girls,” since she recognized D’Andra Simmons but wasn’t acquainted with Stephanie Hollman, Brandi Redmond, Kameron Westcott, and Kary Brittingham.
Or:
Tiffany felt like she had stepped onto the set of Mean Girls, as she was only familiar with one person (D’Andra Simmons), while the rest of the group – which included Stephanie Hollman, Brandi Redmond, Kameron Westcott, and Kary Brittingham – were new faces to her.
As an over-the-moon enthusiast, I simply can’t hide my feelings when recalling the persistent bullying I endured. It ranged from being labeled dull, pressured to consume alcohol beyond my comfort level, and being ridiculed for adhering to a curfew – all actions that felt like they were straight out of a high school drama! After just two weeks, I found myself reaching out to the producers, begging them to consider me more as a “friend” rather than a main cast member.
I really needed to leave the roller coaster, but after being buckled up and the safety bar lowered, there was no way out until we reached the end. I was informed that getting off wasn’t an option, so I had to see it through.
Towards the end of filming, the doctor who adores Birkin bags hosted a gathering for her co-stars to showcase her newly crafted purse. One of them later deemed it ostentatious and alleged that she was being boastful about it.

‘Wow, I thought, that’s not what you said at the time,’ Tiffany scoffed.
‘The deceitfulness displayed on the show was astonishing, even though it had been recorded months earlier and the disputes being revisited were history. Nonetheless, it was painful to witness. Above all, I felt humiliated for having believed these women to be my true friends. As I continued watching, it dawned on me that they were not.’
At the birthday party, the moon felt extremely annoyed when one of the participants, who appeared to be under the influence, compelledly made her drink tequila and shoved her, fully dressed in a pristine jumpsuit, into a swimming pool.
In her own words, she shared that her outfit, hairstyle, and makeup got messed up. Some of the other ladies chuckled. It seemed to her as if she was being subjected to a ritual of initiation or bullying.
On another occasion, Tiffany hurried from her job to be ready for a 7 pm filming session, but none of her co-actors arrived until 8:30 pm.
Moon expressed his frustration, as he had only briefly interacted with his kids that day, and then discovered that he could have spent a bit more time at home with them instead.
I was surprised to find out that they could freely enter whenever they wanted and offer explanations such as “My stylist team was delayed” or “I had a clothing crisis.” Indeed, these are excuses some of my co-stars used when arriving late.
During one episode, the Bravo celebrity organized a dim sum brunch and forcefully urged the producers to persuade her co-stars, particularly Kameron, to sample fried chicken feet against their will.
Reflecting on it now, I wish I hadn’t insisted so strongly that she should try the dish she wasn’t keen on, a decision I deeply regret, Tiffany admitted.

In the real world, I wouldn’t behave that way. However, since it was a reality TV production, people aren’t interested in watching us just sipping tea and being polite.
During another gathering, Moon played a trick on one of her fellow participants, causing them discomfort by serving a pizza laden with crickets instead of the usual toppings.
At another event, Moon pulled a prank that made someone feel unwell by serving them a pizza containing crickets instead of the regular ingredients.
In a moment when that show was broadcasted and I tuned in, it felt incredibly awkward. Thoughts like, “What on earth made me exert myself so much?” kept crossing my mind, the vlogger expressed regretfully.
During a 15-hour reunion taping for its fifth season, the ‘Chicken Feet Gate’ controversy reignited, with additional accusations of racial insensitivity leveled against her. This stems from her portrayal of her Chinese immigrant mother on social media, which some people considered as a form of mockery.
In her writing, Tiffany argued that the behavior she witnessed was a form of stereotyping, and she believed that stereotyping is equivalent to racism. As a result, she concluded that she herself was being racist in this situation. However, experiencing two nosebleeds due to stress may have affected her emotional state, leading to this assumption.
‘Huh? So I’m racist? Against my own race? Because I made fun of my own mother? My brain hurt.’
Among other disclosures found in the detailed account, it emerged that Bravo Network covers the cost of a local getaway over the weekend and an extended overseas vacation of a week’s duration for its cast members. Additionally, they arrange for professional makeup services during confessional video recordings.
‘What is always free is the alcohol,’ Moon wrote.

The show producers ensure there’s plenty of the beverage readily available for you before filming begins. They even take the trouble to find out what your preferred drink is (tequila, vodka, red wine, champagne, etc.), and they always have that drink ready for you. Frankly, I don’t mind having free alcohol on set, but it would be nice if there were some food to go with it as well.
Looking back on it now, I believe extending the dinner service for four hours while keeping the drinks flowing generously might have been an intentional tactic to relax the guests, if you catch my drift.
On the upcoming schedule, a graduate from UT Southwestern will be visiting Books & Books in Coconut Grove, Florida on this coming Wednesday as part of her seven-stop book tour for “Joy Prescriptions”.
