Meghan SKIPS Met Gala?! The SHOCKING Reason Why Will Make You Gasp!
On the first Monday of May, I let out a big sigh of relief while lounging comfortably in my stretchy Primark joggers. At this time of year, I’m grateful that I’m no longer burdened with the responsibilities of being a fashion editor.
Indeed, I’m referring to the renowned event known as the Met Gala – often hailed as fashion’s most glamorous night, held annually in New York City. The event is graciously hosted by the esteemed Anna Wintour, who serves as editor-in-chief of Vogue.
Last night’s topic centered around “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a concept inspired by the African-American trend known as Black Dandyism.
Consider thinking about daring neckties, vests worn around the midriff, and the ‘Zoot suit’ with a raised waistline, initially created in Harlem during the 1930s.
However, long before the stars made their grand entrance at the Met gallery last night, there had already been a stir over some issue.
Jack Schlossberg, a Vogue writer and part of the Kennedy family, stated he would not attend the event as he felt it wasn’t appropriate given the current circumstances – essentially, it wasn’t the right moment for such a festive occasion. The exact intention behind his statement remains unclear.
Last night, it was reported that supermodel and regular attendee of the Met Gala, Naomi Campbell, didn’t encounter any shoe mishaps – possibly due to a disagreement between her and ‘Ice Queen’ Dame Anna.
Despite attempting to enhance her stylish reputation by launching a new online store, Meghan was absent from the event, fueling whispers that she and Harry decided to step back unexpectedly.
If only all the stars, in their monochrome monstrosities, had chosen to skip it, too.
As a devoted fan, I had the privilege of witnessing celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter, Hailey Bieber, and White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood. Interestingly, Sabrina and Hailey appeared without lower attire, while Aimee was sporting an Ahluwalia tuxedo that seemed to have suffered a mishap during her limousine ride, appearing torn.

Indeed, certain ensembles truly stood out, with noteworthy mentions going to rapper Stormzy, who donned a stylish Tom Ford suit, and model Tyson Beckford, looking sharp and classy in his Ralph Lauren attire.
If you are a man and are ever invited to a black tie event, just copy their every detail.
Music sensation Dua Lipa demonstrated her current status as the ‘it’ girl, dressed in elegant Chanel attire. Meanwhile, actress Coco Jones displayed an artistically refined elegance in her custom Manish Malhotra ensemble.

In Tory Burch, Anne Hathaway, and the inspiring ‘plus-size’ model Ashley Graham (who serves as proof that Ozempic isn’t necessary) maintained a refined and graceful demeanor.
This version maintains the original’s meaning while using simpler language and rephrasing the last sentence to make it more straightforward and easy to understand.
They were my top three of the night, in fact.
On the whole – and inevitable, given the ‘dandy’ brief – the men fared better than the women.
In a more casual and readable rephrase: Zendaya, often the star of the event, fell short of expectations when she wore a Louis Vuitton tuxedo and a broad-brimmed hat that hid her beautiful features.

Demi Moore faithfully interpreted the black-tie dress code by donning a real tie designed by Thom Browne, while Madonna wore a Tom Ford tuxedo that appeared to be tailored for someone considerably taller than her.
In my perspective, I sincerely wish that the renowned personality Kim Kardashian, known for her association with Chrome Hearts, and the talented British actress Jodie-Turner Smith, associated with Burberry, did not adorn any genuine exotic leather in their attire.
Despite arriving late, it’s worth noting that Rihanna, who is pregnant now, creatively wore a Marc Jacobs jacket as a skirt. Meanwhile, Alicia Keys was comfortably wrapped up in a duvet.

I apologize, but given the disturbing spectacle at hand, I find myself aligning with the Vogue representative advocating a boycott. In light of current global circumstances, wouldn’t it be more sensitive and prudent to call off this antiquated, environmentally harmful, and inappropriate event? Instead, let’s channel those resources directly towards the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Except for a handful of brands like Prada and Miu Miu, most high-end labels witnessed a significant drop in their sales, comparable to the casual look of Alicia Keys’ jacket.
Isn’t it clear, then, that such a lack of sensitivity in design, producing garments that are both impractical and unappealing, will drive us away from the world of high fashion? Consider rapper Andre 3000, who donned an actual piano on his back as an outfit – it serves as a perfect illustration of my point…
In a scenario I can envision, Meghan, comfortably dressed in cashmere and Hunter boots, residing in Montecito, might be quietly expressing gratitude to Harry: “I’m so thankful we chose not to…
It seems fashion’s biggest night out has become fashion’s biggest nightmare.
Time for a trip to good old Marks & Spencer to find something sane to wear instead.
