Michelle Ackerley Shocks Fans with Pregnancy News Amid Endometriosis Struggles!

Michelle Ackerley and her husband, rugby coach Benjamin Ryan, are about to welcome their first baby into the world, a little over a year since they tied the knot.

The television host, who is forty years old, revealed that the news took her by complete shock, and expressed that she’s moving forward with a mix of apprehension and eagerness as she continues to fight against endometriosis.

Posting a collection of affectionate photos with Benjamin on Instagram, accompanied by a baby ultrasound picture, she wrote: “I can hardly believe it’s almost been a year since our wedding, and I never thought 12 months later I’d be posting about being pregnant…

‘If this type of news is challenging for you, feel free to move on without reading further.’

Last year, I decided it was time to talk openly about my struggle with endometriosis and infertility. As it turns out, I’m not alone – many other women are facing the same challenges.

Being connected to a community, particularly regarding women’s wellness, can truly bring about significant change.

She mentioned: “Right from the beginning of this year, I was preparing myself for another endoscopic procedure and grappling with the emotional and physical repercussions such procedures can bring. Riding an emotional roller coaster has certainly not been easy.

The unexpected news about being pregnant took us by complete surprise, and we’re still finding it hard to accept. In October, we embark on a fresh journey, @benryan7s and I, filled with both trepidation and eagerness for what’s to come.

Let’s continue discussing our experiences, and I’m open to hearing about yours as well.

Earlier, it was disclosed that Michelle had difficulty coping with early onset menopause symptoms due to endometriosis when she was only 24 years old.

Michelle, known for her work as a co-host on The One Show (BBC1), received hormone replacement therapy injections as a means to alleviate the excessive bleeding and severe discomfort that resulted from an ongoing health issue where uterine tissue develops abnormally in other parts of the body.

She expressed that she became quite embarrassed when the treatment caused her to experience hot flashes, itchiness on her skin, and drastic mood changes, which made her feel weak or unwell.

Miss Ackerley, aged 37, shared with Closer that she had been dealing with severe discomfort due to her endometriosis and excessive menstrual flow.

Over a number of years, she had attempted different remedies such as painkillers, but it was only after this point that her gynecologist recommended hormone replacement therapy injections to her.

‘It worked, but basically put me into an early form of menopause for 18 months,’ she said.

‘I was given monthly injections into my stomach, which made my periods completely stop.

I’ve been having really severe hot flashes, and my skin has become both itchy and painful. Additionally, I’ve noticed acne outbreaks on my face.

Due to my intense emotional fluctuations, I found myself quite disorganized. One moment I felt incredibly anxious, the next I felt intensely irritable.

Michelle mentioned that she experiences sudden feelings of intense heat, similar to having a warm water bottle pressed against her chest, during business meetings and phone calls.

‘I tried to fake it as best I could,’ she said. ‘I felt so embarrassed.’

The specific cause for this situation isn’t yet understood, but potential remedies involve administering hormonal medications and surgical procedures to excise the affected tissue.

Michelle, known for hosting programs like Watchdog and various CBBC shows, expressed a sense of solitude when she believed it wasn’t appropriate for her to discuss the unwanted effects of a medication intended to aid her recovery.

She remarked that she was striving to maintain a lively, optimistic demeanor despite her body, both physically and mentally, feeling like it was falling apart.
