Disney+ Shatters Records with Groundbreaking Star Wars Collection You Can’t Miss!
On May 4th, Disney+ debuted a groundbreaking new addition to its Star Wars catalog with the premiere of “Tales of the Underworld.” This unique production has left its mark on both the Star Wars franchise and Disney+ history. Following in the footsteps of the animated short series, “Tales of the Underworld” continues. Notably, seven actors from previous Star Wars projects lend their voices to this exciting new show.
Following the debut of six episodes from the series “Tales of the Underworld” on Disney+, the platform introduced a new set of Star Wars stories known as “Star Wars Tales.” This compilation encompasses previously released and newly created narratives such as “Tales of the Jedi“, “Tales of the Empire“, and the recently added “Tales of the Underworld“. By launching this collection, Disney+ made history within the Star Wars universe by becoming the first platform to offer an exclusive collection of Star Wars stories distributed solely by Disney.
Collections like the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series encompass projects developed during the Disney period, but they also draw from ideas conceived when George Lucas was the driving force behind the franchise. On the other hand, the “Star Wars Tales” collection does not include any works from Lucas’ era. It is significant to note that this particular collection made history as it marks the first Star Wars collection to consist entirely of projects created exclusively for Disney+ streaming platform.
Meanwhile, “Star Wars Tales” persists in making history, being the sole Star Wars anthology on Disney+ that exclusively showcases animated productions.
In the banner for “Star Wars Tales”, there are three separate areas that spotlight the primary characters from each series. On the left, you’ll see Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee, who represent “Tales of the Empire”. In the center, you’ve got Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku from “Tales of the Jedi”, and on the right, you find Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane from “Tales of the Underworld”.
Including “Star Wars Tales,” Disney+ has five total collections under its Star Wars umbrella.
