Story Highlights
- HoYoverse is actively hiring for a new Honkai IP game, an urban fantasy Chinese RPG.
- Development is being done in Unity, with multiple positions open.
- No details on the name or release window have been officially announced yet.
HoYoverse has publicly unveiled its upcoming game based on the Honkai IP, titled “Honkai: Nexus Anima”. This intriguing project, which was hinted at in job postings last year, will blend elements of urban fantasy into a role-playing game (RPG) setting. It promises spirit companions, strategic auto chess battles, and the excitement of exploration.
The game allows you to collect and train “Destined Spirits”, which can fly, glide, and surf
At the Honkai: Star Rail Concert 2025, HoYoverse unveiled a brief sneak peek of their upcoming Honkai game, where we saw two trainers preparing for a fight with mystical creatures.
Through trademark applications and domain registrations, a name for the game, tentatively known as Honkai: Nexus Anima, has been leaked. Supporting evidence includes official regional Twitter accounts such as @HonkaiNA and its language variations.
Initially unveiled as early as March this year through job advertisements, it appears that the job postings were for a game set in a tranquil coastal town. Based on my interpretation of the translations, this game allows players to gather “Destined Spirits” and assemble a team to participate in combats.
These mystical creatures can be taught new skills and upgraded, granting them the power to soar, glide, and ride waves, all while revealing hidden mysteries. They’ve been compared to Pokemon in their nature. Key aspects of the game’s development include its use of Unity engine, along with job openings for system development, graphics rendering, character animation, level design, and many other areas.

If you recall, an earlier recruitment poster from last year suggested a contemporary urban backdrop, and it appears that the latest one follows suit. The position for a Mission Designer has been made available under the preliminary research phase of the Honkai IP.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but marvel at the growing might of the Honkai IP by HoYoverse. The franchise has already unleashed an impressive four titles, with standouts like “Honkai Impact 3rd” and the upcoming “Honkai: Star Rail” capturing the spotlight. With another game on the horizon, it’s evident that the intriguing lore of this universe is poised to expand even further, a prospect that has me eagerly anticipating what’s next!

Details such as the title, launch period, and additional specifics regarding the upcoming Honkai-inspired game have yet to be disclosed. Given that this project is currently in its developmental phase, it may require some extra time before we receive any official updates.
