Danny Beard Exposes the Shocking Truth Behind Celebrity Big Brother and Drag Race!
As an ardent admirer of Big Brother, Danny Beard hadn’t anticipated encountering anything that would take him aback upon entering the house a month ago.
To TopMob, Danny disclosed the one aspect that caught him off-guard while on the program.
It turned out that neither the tasks, the house’s size, nor the roommates were the deciding factors, but rather the lighting that stood out as significant.
‘I was not expecting it to be as bright as it was,’ Danny admitted. ‘It was harsh.’
Reflecting on the situation, I can’t help but express my viewpoint: It struck me as rather narrow-minded, bordering on intolerant. It felt akin to encountering a family member at university who had never ventured beyond their comfort zone.
I’m eagerly looking forward to returning home. Right now, I’m living with candles as my only source of light, so I can hardly wait to enjoy even a modest amount of light and spend some time in a cozy, dimly-lit environment for the upcoming weeks.
Hey there! As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement (and a tinge of disappointment) about the recent Celebrity Big Brother finale. Yours truly, Danny, gave it my all and made it to the final round, but alas, the charming Jack P. Shepherd edged me out by a mere 2% in the public vote. I’ve got to hand it to him, though – he was a formidable competitor! Here’s to another season where I can hopefully take that top spot! #TeamDanny
Besides his stint on Celebrity Big Brother, Danny was also a contestant on the popular reality series, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
Contrary to the American version, the BBC program didn’t provide monetary rewards or sponsorships to its contestants. In fact, several celebrities found themselves in debt while participating.
Danny disclosed that he ended up spending a total of £25,000 on costumes and props in order to participate successfully.
Inquired about the possibility of appearing in a RuPaul spin-off like All Stars or vs The World, Danny openly declared: “Definitely not. Not even after a million years.
I found it simply outstanding! It provided care, growth, and left me feeling thankful for the chance, yet the reality is, it required an investment of 25,000 dollars on my part.
‘I feel like I’d like to do telly now where I’m being paid rather than me pay!
I don’t wish to come across as unintelligent. I was aware of the situation, and rest assured, I will never criticize that program.

In the future, Danny aspires to have his own television program airing on Friday nights.
He shared that he really enjoys bringing joy to others and making them feel great. His dream is to host Danny Beard’s Friday Night Cabaret, an exciting live event where he would first appear in drag and perform a captivating number at the beginning.
I’ll perform as a host with celebrity guests and also appear in drag, creating an experience where I embody two distinct characters, both live and pre-recorded segments.” This version aims to maintain the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language.
For me, Lily Savage was a remarkable figure. It was truly astonishing when Paul O’Grady transitioned from being Lily to Paul.
It would be fantastic if I could manage that task today. Ideally, I’d like to accomplish two things simultaneously. Frankly, I find that idea appealing, and I’m eager to get started on it.
Danny Beard shares the valuable life lessons he gained following the passing of his cherished friend, The Vivienne, as well as expressing enduring affection for Mickey Rourke. Moreover, he discusses his journey towards embracing love beyond his drag persona.
As soon as I stepped into the Mail’s offices, I could understand why my Celebrity Big Brother housemates took an instant liking to me – my vibrant personality was hard to resist.
It might not be unexpected for a drag queen to excel at captivating an audience, but it’s surprising that Danny isn’t currently in drag.
Danny, identifying with both he and they pronouns outside of drag, presents himself to me as the authentic and exposed individual, Daniel Curtis, the person beneath the persona known as Danny Beard.
I became familiar with Danny, like many others, when he clinched the win during the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK back in 2022.
Sporting an unusual style marked by large wigs and quick, humorous remarks, it was obvious that Danny Beard was someone to take seriously.
In Celebrity Big Brother, Danny opted to reveal the next three weeks of their life as part of an exploration into society, displaying a different facet of themselves to the public.

It’s a move that went down a treat, with viewers voting Danny to second place.
In a narrow victory, she lost the contest to Jack P. Shepherd from Coronation Street, with the difference being only a minuscule 2% of the total votes cast.
Danny chuckles, his eyes gleaming. “You were pick-pocketed!” he quips, but swiftly adds, “However, let’s be serious for a moment. Jack is truly remarkable, a champion in every sense.
I’m absolutely thrilled for him! He’s an outstanding individual who always remains genuine. Plus, he’s been a TV staple for a quarter of a century. Sharing space with such an iconic figure is truly an honor – I consider myself fortunate.
It’s clear that the audience got to witness another facet of Jack, perhaps it was challenging for him to move past his reputation as David Platt, the antagonist.
Similarly, the same sentiment applies to Danny as well – and in the closing days, viewers experienced a heartwarming scene where he emotionally opened up about finding acceptance beyond the world of drag.
‘I believe I received top-notch preparation from participating in a program similar to Drag Race.’
Showing off your skills is crucial on Drag Race, but it’s equally important to reveal your vulnerabilities, as these moments foster genuine connections with others. I personally found this aspect quite soothing.
To me, forming friendships with the team behind a TV show is what I enjoy most about it. However, that’s an aspect lacking in Big Brother.
The Diary Room is essentially a small, enclosed space equipped with a camera, serving as a place where you can express your thoughts freely and confidentially. It functions as both your personal recording device and a trustworthy companion for your introspections.

Indeed, there were numerous matters I found myself eager to share with Big Brother, among them being the enigmatic housemate Mickey Rourke, whose actions were often a subject of debate and discussion.
The 72-year-old actor was removed from the program in its initial week following his use of derogatory language targeting queer popstar JoJo Siwa, making suggestive comments towards Ella Rae Wise on TOWIE, and engaging in a confrontation with Chris Hughes from Love Island.
It might come as a shock to some people that Danny, who often highlights his inclusivity, has given his phone number to an actor.
Danny clarified, “While I didn’t always align with what the man expressed or his actions, I felt as though I truly understood Mickey on some level. I believe he was in need of a little tender care.
But, I have to ask, surely there are times he felt uncomfortable around Mickey?
Danny added, “I felt quite at ease then, especially following our conversation in the garden [post his remarks about JoJo].
I said, “This isn’t targeted at you personally. It’s not about your emotions. However, your actions have affected how someone else feels.
In essence, his character seemed to be drawn towards mine, and I believe he admired my straightforwardness. This could have been the spark that ignited the beginnings of our budding camaraderie.
Even though I don’t entirely concur with his words and actions, if I had launched a full-scale attack, there would have been no progress made.
‘In fact, when he was removed from the house, I felt like we were actually breaking through.
It’s clear he’s an adult and a well-known celebrity in Hollywood, but there was something about him that seemed vulnerable. I sensed a certain confusion or uncertainty within him, and it moved me. I believe he was simply trying to find his way.

Danny also made an unlikely friend in former Conservative MP Michael Fabricant.
‘If you’d have told me three weeks ago I’d have an ex-Tory MP in my phone…’ Danny laughs.
To be honest, I fancied myself as an open and approachable person, welcoming to all. However, upon closer inspection, I found myself harboring a prejudice against a certain Tory individual that I hadn’t anticipated. Interestingly, I discovered more similarities with Michael Fabricant than I cared to acknowledge.
‘I hold him in high regard as an elderly, experienced bisexual individual, who is quite advanced in age.’ He chuckles. ‘Given his life experiences, I’m grateful for someone like him because he has paved the way for me, a young man, to openly express myself on television.’
‘If I was born before I wouldn’t have been able to be me if it wasn’t for people like Michael.
Although we may not see eye-to-eye on politics, there are aspects of his character that I genuinely appreciate. Moreover, there are shared interests or values where our paths crossed, and to me, that’s really commendable.
In turn, Danny has also helped younger members of the LGBTQ community.
A significant instance inside the house occurred when JoJo shared with Danny that she has been examining her sexuality and now identifies as ‘queer’, rather than lesbian.
As a devoted admirer, let me share some insights – I’ve been donning the fabulous heels and dazzling makeup of a drag queen for more than a decade now!
Through years of experience in various LGBTQ+ venues across the nation, I’ve found myself engaging in numerous conversations with young clubgoers. The number of times I’ve done this, I can’t even begin to count.
I’ve had a similar conversation before. It’s the community I belong to, where we lend a hand to one another. In my journey, people have assisted me. That’s just how we operate. We pay it forward.

As Danny and JoJo enjoyed a sweet moment together, a tense situation unfolded when the Dance Moms star unexpectedly nominated Danny in a direct confrontation, putting him at risk of being voted on by the public.
Yet Danny holds no grudges.
I admire the player, not the game,” they chuckle. “I’m a big fan of Big Brother, yet I was surprised by how challenging it became for me to make nominations. The entire selection process left me feeling disheartened.
The pair have exchanged numbers and Danny hopes to visit her in Los Angeles.
So what does Danny make of the situation between JoJo and Chris?
At the CBB wrap party, JoJo breaking up with Kath Ebbs sparked curious glances and fueled gossip among the house members, as their playful behavior had already caused a stir earlier.
Despite their assertion that they are “platonic soulmates,” Danny finds themselves puzzled by their appeal.
It seems to me that whatever their intentions or decisions – whether they choose to maintain their friendship or decide to part ways permanently – that choice is up to them.
‘I don’t get the fascination! Leave them to it.’
Danny remarks about JoJo: “She’s been working since she was five, and let me tell you, she’s got a fantastic mind on her.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt sentiment: Chris and she were there for one another in their time of need, and I firmly believe they both found solace in this friendship. May they continue to cherish each other’s company, despite any peculiarities others might perceive, because happiness is what truly matters.
One thing the scenario has done, however, is cement Danny’s love for their boyfriend Kye.

As a devoted admirer, each day apart from him felt like an eternity. Every night, I’d find myself longing for his presence and expressing my affection by kissing his image tenderly.
Reflecting on the house, it struck me how robust many of my relationships truly are, including not only my partner but also others as well.
I’m surrounded by individuals who have stood by me, offering support and affection for a prolonged period. We maintain frequent communication with each other.
In such a scenario, if what was yours gets stripped away, all that remains is the solitude of your inner reflections.
‘So I’m incredibly proud of the journey I’ve been on to come out to this reaction.’
Now, Danny is focused on the future and is hoping to front a cabaret style late night TV show.
He reflects, “There’s nothing quite like bringing joy to others and seeing them happy. That happiness, in turn, makes me feel fulfilled.
This attitude is one that Danny hopes to live by.
We find ourselves discussing the legacy he wants to leave behind.
Discussing death, even though it can be grim, is an undercurrent theme today, as we’re still reeling from the recent and unfortunate passing of our beloved colleague on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jiggly Caliente, just yesterday.
Back in 2011, Bianca Castro gained prominence on the American adaptation of a popular show. However, she passed away suddenly at the age of 43 on Sunday morning, only a few days after undergoing an amputation of her right leg due to a severe infection.

In January, James Lee Williams, also known as The Vivienne, a close friend of Danny and fellow Drag Race star, sadly passed away following a cardiac arrest induced by ketamine.
Discussing their death, Danny chokes up.
He reflects, ‘One lesson I gleaned from Viv is that she wouldn’t have been convinced by the overwhelming display of affection upon her passing. Indeed, she wouldn’t have.’
It could be said that she wouldn’t have known the extent of admiration she would receive worldwide, as people across the globe would have celebrated her.
From then on, I’ve learned to make a point of expressing my feelings immediately. Now, I encourage everyone to share their affection and pride in their friends right away, not waiting for some future moment that might never come. That’s what I do, and I hope you’ll join me in making this small yet meaningful change.
If I were to imagine being in that situation, what would my lasting impression be? I hope it will be: “Wow, they were entertaining. Wow, they made me smile. Wow, whenever I watched their performance, it was an exceptional evening.
‘Because that’s the power of entertainment. I’m just lucky that this is my job.
‘It’s saved me in many ways that you will never know. It’s kept me on the straight and narrow.’
It appears that our conversation has come to a natural conclusion. Danny is content with who he is currently and what he aims to become in the future, which is something we can all strive for.
