Matt Damon’s brilliant spy thriller trilogy is now streaming for free

Matt Damon’s trilogy of Jason Bourne spy thrillers are now available to stream for free in the UK.

These action thrillers, namely “The Bourne Identity” (released in 2002), “The Bourne Supremacy” (from 2004), and “The Bourne Ultimatum” (premiered in 2007), are now available for streaming on Tubi.

Instead of “The Bourne Legacy” (2012) being accessible on Tubi, it is important to note that this film features Jeremy Renner as the main character instead of Matt Damon. While Damon did reappear in “Jason Bourne” (2016), unfortunately, that particular movie isn’t offered through their service.

Overall, Tubi offers a vast collection of older content, encompassing a diverse array of foreign-language and LGBTQ+ series and movies. While it may be primarily known for its classic titles, it does have some newer releases as well, such as “Everything Everywhere All at Once” (2022), “The Flash” and “Air” (both 2023).

The Bourne series of films is recognized for introducing a more realistic, post-9/11 atmosphere to Hollywood, a style that has been echoed in various productions such as the James Bond series and Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.

In addition to being memorable, both the original trilogy and “Legacy” were distinguished by the involvement of Tony Gilroy in their writing. Later on, he collaborated on the script for the “Star Wars” prequel, “Rogue One,” and created, wrote, and served as showrunner for the recently reintroduced series, “Andor.

It was announced towards the end of 2023 that a sixth installment in the series was being developed, with Edward Berger, director of “All Quiet on the Western Front,” set to lead production.

Since then, there hasn’t been much news regarding the project. Last month, however, it became known that Universal Pictures no longer holds the rights to the franchise. Now, potential distributors like Apple, Netflix, and Paramount are interested in acquiring the series.

Moving forward, Damon is set to star in the Netflix movie titled “RIP” alongside Ben Affleck. Additionally, he will be part of Christopher Nolan’s ambitious ancient Greek production, “The Odyssey“.

The Bourne trilogy and Legacy can be streamed on Tubi now.
