Pugsley Addams Gets a Major Makeover in ‘Wednesday’ Season 2

In the first season of “Wednesday,” fans were initially introduced to the famous Addams family members, but one character will undergo a noticeable change when the series continues for its second season. Isaac Ordonez portrayed Pugsley Addams alongside Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Luis Guzman as Gomez, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia in the Netflix production. The Addams family were mostly absent in Season 1, with their eldest daughter leaving home for boarding school, but they’re expected to take on a more prominent role in Season 2.

Yet, despite this growth spurt, I remain undeniably Pugsley, sporting the familiar black and white striped attire in both seasons.

It remains uncertain how many real-world months have elapsed between the end of Wednesday Season 1 and the start of Season 2, as they are set within the show’s timeline. By the finale of Season 1, Pugsley was last spotted in the midst of the series when the Addams family visited their daughter during Nevermore Academy’s Parents Weekend. The commencement of Wednesday Season 2 indicates that a fresh semester at Nevermore is about to unfold, implying that only a few months have passed between seasons.

In fact, the gap between the filming of different seasons is more than what you might expect. “Wednesday” Season 1 was produced in the years 2021 and 2022, while Season 2 was filmed from 2024. This means there was a two-year interval between filming sessions, during which Ordonez naturally grew older.

In the series “Wednesday,” it’s not unexpected that Pugsley, being a teenager, might experience growth during this stage of his life. This change should be relatively easy for viewers to understand when the character reappears in Season 2.

Furthermore, this move promises an expanded screen time for Ordonez, a captivating actor who graced our screens a mere two times during Season 1 – I, for one, am eagerly anticipating seeing more of his skillful performance in the upcoming season.

In the upcoming Season 2 of “Wednesday,” some storylines from Season 1 are being dropped, creating space for fresh developments, such as additional plotlines involving Pugsley. His presence could pose a challenge for Wednesday, given her past criticism of him as being “soft and weak” in Season 1. However, her comment that he “would never survive” without her hints at the possibility of Wednesday taking on a mentoring role to help Pugsley adapt to life at Nevermore Academy.
