Video surfaces from the night Ruby Rose claims Katy Perry sexually assaulted her – as more details emerge of the evening amid police probe

More information has come to light about Ruby Rose’s allegation that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at a Melbourne nightclub in 2010.

Police are investigating a reported incident that Rose says happened at Spice Market on August 15th of last year.

Perry, age 41, strongly denies the claims made against her. Meanwhile, Channel 10 has released video footage showing the pop star surprising fans by attending their high school formal on the very same night.

Rose, age 40, and the singer unexpectedly joined a farewell party for seniors at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Melbourne to start their evening.

Katy Perry performed a few songs for her fans, including a cover of Beyoncé’s ‘Single Ladies’.

As their classmates danced, students gathered in a circle to watch. Then, Perry jumped in and joined the dancing.

The hitmaker almost went unrecognised by students, as she appeared to be wearing a short black wig.

I was out and about recently, and you wouldn’t believe who I spotted! I overheard someone whisper, ‘Is that Katy Perry?’ and then, instantly, another person exclaimed, ‘Oh my gosh, it is!’ It was quite a moment – everyone was so excited!

Although Rose wasn’t visible in the video, reports indicate she was also at the event with Perry before they headed to Spice Market.

A previous employee of the nightclub, inside the Grand Hyatt hotel, verified that Rose and Perry were both there together that evening.

An old photo has reappeared showing the two of them arriving at the club together, along with other people. Perry is still wearing the same formal outfit she was spotted in just before.

A former employee claimed the celebrities had consumed a lot of alcohol and were discreetly escorted out a back exit when they departed the club.

The former manager told the Herald Sun on Tuesday that they had been drinking, but weren’t excessively intoxicated – just at a typical level for someone at a nightclub.

The group arrived together, including Katy’s hairstylist and makeup artist, plus a friend of Ruby’s.

The staff member explained that being at the club quickly turned into a security problem because there were around 600 other people there.

At one point, Perry is said to have also enjoyed a dance ‘right in the middle of the mosh pit’.

According to a witness, Perry and Rose were with friends in a private VIP section and left the venue through a back exit.

He stated that they were driven away in a private vehicle and that he didn’t witness any sexual assault that night.

Knowing they were both public figures, we were careful to avoid paparazzi catching them in a compromised state. We always tried to shield them from unwanted attention and protect their images.

Police in Victoria are looking into claims made by Rose that pop star Perry sexually assaulted her.

Detectives with the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are looking into a sexual assault that happened in Melbourne in 2010, police said Wednesday.

‘Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD.’

I understand the investigation is still happening, and honestly, I completely respect that they’re not sharing any more details right now. It just wouldn’t be right to speculate while they’re still working things out, and I trust they’ll let us know what they find when they can.

Rose has shared on Threads that she’s unable to discuss the situation further because the police are currently investigating what she reported.

The Australian star said on Tuesday that they had finished all their reports by that afternoon.

From now on, I can’t offer any public opinions or share information about those cases or the people connected to them.

It might seem like I’m overlooking everything – kind words, other people’s stories, everything – but that’s not the case. I’m still paying attention.

Honestly, getting that call from the police… it’s almost a relief. It finally feels like things can start to move forward, you know? I can finally begin to heal, to pick up the pieces. And I just… I love all of you so much for being there.

The singer strongly refuted Rose’s accusations, stating she did not sexually assault the Orange Is The New Black actress and calling the claims ‘false and harmful’.

Rose shared on social media that the incident involving the singer happened at Spice Market when she was in her twenties.

She added that it had taken her ‘almost two decades’ to speak about it publicly.

‘I’m now 40. It has taken almost two decades to say this publicly,’ she said.

A spokesperson for Perry has responded to claims made by Ruby Rose on social media, stating they are completely untrue and harmful. They described the allegations as dangerous and reckless lies.

Ms. Rose frequently makes serious accusations against people on social media, but those accused have consistently denied her claims.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Perry and Rose for comment.
