Fire Country Star Has No Clue How Gabriela Will Exit—But These Theories Will Shock You!
If you merely watched the final episode of Season 3 in Fire Country without keeping up with recent news, you might be surprised to learn that Gabriela won’t return for Season 4. As the story ended, she, much like the other characters, was battling a significant fire, and there were no indications suggesting her departure from the series. Interestingly, actress Stephanie Arcila herself is unsure of how Gabriela will exit the show. However, I’ve come up with a few theories on what might happen to her character in Season 4.
Following the Season 3 finale of Fire Country, airing on the 2025 TV schedule, I was taken aback by the news that both Arcila and Billy Burke, portraying Vince Leone, are expected to depart from the CBS series. This is significant as it’s the first instance in the show’s three seasons of an original regular character leaving, making this a major development. However, the lack of a proper farewell scene for either character in the last episode has left us with many questions.
In the case of Gabriela, when asked how she might get written off, Arcila told TV Guide:
I have no idea.
Although it seems like Burke might depart through Vince’s demise, given his predicament in the burning retirement home, I’m unsure about Gabriela’s exit. The actress portraying her is also uncertain. Yet, based on her background, I have a few ideas for how Arcila’s character could be written out of the story.
Gabriela Is A Diver, Maybe She’ll Leave Edgewater To Return To The Sport
I’m going to start with my more outlandish theory, because it’s the one I want to happen.

Let me explain my thoughts: I believe that Bode should be with Audrey long-term in the series ‘Fire Country’, and I’d like to discuss the reasons behind this choice.
Prior to returning to Edgewater, Gabriela had been preparing herself as an Olympic diver. Her entire existence revolved around swimming, so transitioning into a firefighter represented a significant shift in her life.
It seems logical for her to revisit her sport again, possibly rekindling her love for it. At the moment, she appears trapped in her job at Edgewater, and the events of this season – such as her father’s return to Three Rock, his near-death experience, Finn stalking her, and the end of her relationship with Bode – have weighed heavily on her. She requires a significant break, and this could serve as just that for her.
It seems quite plausible that she might relocate to a place with a diving squad, taking on the role of coach there. In doing so, she would be able to reconnect with Egewater, while at the same time maintaining some distance to aid in her recovery and rediscover her passion for diving.
Maybe Gabriela Will Take A Job Firefighting In A Town Near Edgewater
In my humble opinion as a film enthusiast, it appears that Jake’s departure from Edgewater for a fresh job opportunity might have been just a red herring. Given the recent developments and considering Vince’s potential demise, I believe Jake may choose to stay put and ascend the ranks at Station 42 instead. Consequently, it seems plausible that Gabriela could grab the job offer Jake had received.
Arcila is expected to revisit Fire Country occasionally, and she hasn’t been permanently excluded from the storyline. This allows for opportunities where she might return if a fire incident necessitates multiple fire departments or when she wants to catch up with her father during her days off.

Moving her into the realm of firefighting could provide her with opportunities to visit Edgewater for various purposes, which makes it a sensible decision for the series.
Yet, these are merely my speculations about how Gabriela will depart in “Fire Country” when it resumes next autumn. For now, feel free to revisit Stephanie Arcila’s portrayal as the firefighter who was once a diver by watching the first three seasons on Paramount+ with a subscription.
