Mean Girls Meets American Psycho

Director Levy described “Hot Ted” as a psychosexual thriller with elements of contemporary teenage life, blending the wit of Mean Girls and the intensity of American Psycho. She expressed her excitement about this project as it represents a modern take on camp comedy that resonates with today’s teenagers. Levy started her career at The Onion and Funny or Die and has directed more than 60 projects between 2018 and 2022, including the Emmy-winning series “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA”. However, she was not responsible for writing the screenplay for “Hot Ted”, which was written by Grace McLeod.

Under the guidance of CEO Dave Bishop, Protagonist Pictures is set to debut global sales for the film Hot Ted during the Cannes Film Market. In a statement, Bishop described the film as “unbeatably fresh – sharp, hilarious, and offering a uniquely original take on its genre.” He continued, stating that “Hot Ted perfectly captures the chaotic, awkward transition from childhood to adulthood. With an exceptional cast featuring Billy, Ariana, and Ella, this film seems destined to become an instant classic.

Magnussen is teaming up with Shane Andries and Anne Hollister from HappyBad Bungalow for this project. HappyBad Bungalow is a production house that focuses on uplifting original, inspiring artists, and they’re incredibly excited to support the talented duo of Grace McLeod and Hannah Levy in this unique venture! As for other producers, Javier Chapa and Phillip Braun are joining from Mucho Mas Media, while Morgan Cano-Long and Robert Muñoz will executive produce for Mucho Mas. Bishop, James Pugh, and George Hamilton are also set to serve as executive producers for Protagonist. I can’t wait to see this project come to life!

Ella Purnell Returning for Fallout Season 2

Filming is currently happening on the highly anticipated adaptation of Fallout, featuring a character named Max, who was once a Vault Dweller but now lives (and dies) on the surface. This popular video game adaptation received another season greenlight from Amazon Prime Video in April 2024, only eight days after the complete first season had been made available for streaming on their platform. Although specific storyline details for Season 2 are still under wraps, Fallout’s showrunners and co-creators, Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, have hinted in June 2024 that they aim to explore the character of Max more deeply in the upcoming season.
