According to Rolling Stone, Weston’s attorney asked for a diversionary option following his statement that Weston had undergone extensive in-house and out-clinic therapy after the event that occurred on April 28, 2024.

During the reported incidents, his lawyer, Michael A. Goldstein, mentioned that Weston had switched doctors recently and had only begun taking a new medication.

After the court case’s conclusion, Fulton shared a message with her former partner, Cage, during an interview with TMZ. The essence of what she said was, “Please look after our son well.

Fulton backed the Weston diversion plan instead of prison, yet she asked that her son undergo a few more months of inpatient care as additional treatment.

Additionally, Fulton provided a vivid account of the evening when she claims she was viciously attacked, resulting in injuries that put her life at risk.

Beyond mandating Weston’s participation in a mental health diversion program, the judge also made it clear that he is not allowed to harass his alleged victims or acquire any weapons over the course of the following two years.

A progress report hearing was set for July.

Previously claiming innocence, Weston was apprehended in July 2024 for the accusation of using a lethal weapon in an attack. Subsequently, he was granted bail set at $150,000.

Following his arrest on April 28th, 2024, at approximately 5:30 PM, I was contacted by concerned friends of my son, Weston Cage, who shared their concerns about his declining mental health and implored me to assist. In response, I issued a statement.

Upon my arrival to provide comfort and aid, I found him engulfed in an intense fit of anger, bordering on madness. In just a few short moments, I was viciously attacked and suffered severe wounds as a result.

In the previous month, a lawsuit filed by Fulton alleging negligence against her former partner, Nicholas Cage, was thrown out of court.

In the lawsuit submitted in February, Fulton claims that Nicolas aided Weston’s ‘irresponsible’ behavior by getting him out of jail multiple times, providing him with financial assistance, and consuming alcohol with Weston even though they were aware of his past issues with substance abuse.

She also alleged that Nicolas of failing to help his son receive ‘necessary psychiatric’ help.

At that point, Nicholas’ attorney responded to Christina Fulton’s assertions in a statement given to People, saying: “Nicolas Cage’s claims made by Christina Fulton are ridiculous and baseless.

Weston Coppola, who is 34 years old, is not influenced or managed by Mr. Cage in terms of his actions, and therefore, Mr. Cage bears no responsibility for the alleged assault that Weston is accused of committing against his mother.
