You season 5 finale spoilers follow.
Divisive Netflix show You has stormed to the top of the streamer’s trending charts.
Last week marked the release of the final season for the suspenseful series, which appears to have struck a chord with audiences as it garnered an impressive 10.1 million views within its initial four days.
In this case, the show is currently number one on the English TV chart, and the popularity of its first season has returned it to the Top 10 after being absent for more than two years. Additionally, the entire series has amassed over 500 million views.
In the television show, titled “You,” Penn Badgley portrays the character of Joe Goldberg – a serial killer from the book series penned by Caroline Kepnes. This character has a dark past involving the murder of several women.
Throughout its duration, the series has faced criticism due to portraying its main character’s actions as romantically appealing, even though he committed heinous crimes.
A wordy rephrasing of your statement could be: “The conclusion of the latest show has sparked much debate among viewers and reviewers, as while some adored it, others found fault with it – hence, significant plot twists and endings are discussed next.

In that particular episode, it was my turn to face the consequences as a fresh adversary, Bronte, stepped forward to seek retribution for Joe’s heinous act against Guinevere Beck from way back in season one – taking her life.
In a fierce altercation, his efforts to harm her prove unsuccessful as she ultimately gains control, firing a shot that disables him below the belt. Subsequently, he is apprehended by the police and receives a life sentence in prison.
During a heated encounter, his plans to harm her fall short, and she eventually takes charge, disabling him irreversibly with a gunshot aimed at a sensitive area. The police arrive to arrest him, resulting in a life imprisonment conviction.

Badgley has justified the conclusion by stating to Deadline: “The story raises the issue of how we handle individuals like Joe. It’s about criminal justice, transformative justice as some call it, and the debate between justice, revenge, and retribution.
Instead of considering what might be best for Joe alone, it’s crucial to think about the consequences for whoever would then have to deal with his fate. For example, if someone were to kill him (and let’s assume this hypothetical killer is a woman), they would in essence be committing murder. I don’t believe that’s just. Similarly, torture and prison may not be adequate solutions either. So, what other options are there? Perhaps we should consider alternatives to castration.
You seasons 1-5 are streaming on Netflix.
