Comedian Fakes Heart Attack Onstage After Shocking Open-Heart Surgery Reveal

Sandra Bernhard began her five-night residency at Café Carlyle in New York City on Tuesday evening.

In her initial act, the 69-year-old humorist, who was previously very close with Madonna, disclosed to the crowd that she underwent open-heart surgery not too long ago.

The actress remarked that the operation she underwent was prearranged, emphasizing its lack of theatrics, before sharing about other hospital patients who were critically ill.

She exclaimed, “This situation is utterly bizarre. I’ll manage to make it through and escape from here,” she reportedly stated, as per Billboard’s account.

Bernhard steered the conversation forward initially, then circled back to the topic later to deliver it as a surprising twist at the end.

On that special event, the lady born in Michigan donned an eye-catching ensemble consisting of a matching orange and red blouse and skirt adorned with big, round sequins.

Her shoulder-length ginger-toned locks were parted down the middle and styled in bouncy ringlets.

Cafe Carlyle also promoted her stint at the venue with a supportive social media post.

Last night, I was thrilled to make my Café Carlyle debut, and it seems like the audience felt the same way! My one-woman show left them in stitches and made for an unforgettable night.
