Blake Lively’s Fierce ‘Tiger’ Persona Shocks Director in Dark New Role Revealed!
In the movie “Another Simple Favor,” director Paul Feig was left speechless by Blake Lively’s talent for seamlessly embodying the role of Emily Nelson, a captivating yet deadly con-artist.
Observing the actress skillfully take on her villainous part once more, Feig was astonished by Lively’s ability to convincingly play a character vastly distinct from her own self.
Blake seems to perfectly portray Emily in a humorous manner, as Blake himself is completely different from Emily off-screen,” he clarified to Entertainment Tonight.
In spite of the numerous debates surrounding her, Feig maintains that the actress, known for her role in Gossip Girl and likening herself to Daenerys Targaryen (Khaleesi) from Game of Thrones, is particularly kind-hearted.
‘This tiger comes out when she gets into Emily,’ Feig said in awe.
Feig collaborated with Lively not only on the recently-released film “Another Simple Favor” on Amazon Prime Video (May 1 release), but also on their previous project, “A Simple Favor,” which came out in 2018.
Back at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in March, I couldn’t help but gush to USA Today about how downright earthy and nurturing Blake is, off-camera. He’s like a mother nature embodied!
However, once the cameras started recording, he extolled her ability to metamorphose into the character flawlessly, while simultaneously being sharp, assertive, terrifying yet comical.
Feig further acknowledged that he could not imagine any other actors besides Emma Stone and Anna Kendrick delivering the complex roles they portrayed so well.
‘Their chemistry is so through the roof it’s crazy’ he told People earlier this year.
Previously, Lively referred to Emily as her “most beloved character” that she has “had the good fortune to act out.
Feig has stuck up for Lively multiple times amid her legal war with Justin Baldoni.
In February, he indicated that Lively had no involvement in the editing process for their forthcoming movie, “Another Simple Favor.
Following the promotional announcement from Prime Video about Another Simple Favor, some viewers suggested that Lively may have exerted control over Feig and the film, a claim that he denied.

As a seasoned lifestyle expert, let me share some insights from my recent conversation with the talented filmmaker Feig. In his own words, regarding the upcoming movie Jackpot!, he assertively clarified, “This is my vision. There’s only one cut – mine – I just wanted to make that clear.
In his response, Feig lavishly complimented Lively, whom he had collaborated with in the 2018 film “A Simple Favor.
The Emmy-nominated director praised Blake by saying, “She’s been absolutely fantastic to work with and a dream come true,” having directed popular shows like Arrested Development, The Office, and Nurse Jackie. In his words, she is exceptional, an outstanding collaborator, and he admires her the most.
Many supporters of the director found fault with his support for Lively, as accusations were leveled against him by Baldoni in legal documents and online posts.
One user expressed, ‘Paul, it might be tempting for you to dismiss these comments as coming from a group of fools, but Blake and Ryan indeed leveraged their influence to trample Justin.’ It’s truly disheartening, and I just hope you recall your early days in this industry.
Others implied to Feig that his high standing within the industry, earned through years of acclaimed work, might shield him from the pressure and interference Lively reportedly put Baldoni under while working on the screenplay, costumes, and editing for “It Ends with Us”.
One user commented, “Given your extensive experience in directing, it’s understandable that Blake wouldn’t dare encroach on your territory. Instead, she targets inexperienced directors and reportedly uses her husband to intimidate them and gain control.
She wouldn’t dare treat you unkindly, which is why many people describe her as wonderful, exceptional, and kind.

A different user put it this way: “By backing Blake, you’re actually worsening the situation. It seems clear that she is tactful towards influential directors like yourself but takes a hostile stance against those she perceives as less significant.
In my professional opinion, it seems you’ve been fortunate indeed. Blake, being wise, chose not to intimidate or belittle you, appreciating your unique qualities that set you apart from the crowd. However, keep in mind that the success of this show remains questionable. Break a leg!
In Feig’s post, several users pointed out that Baldoni stated in legal documents that Lively intentionally kept him from having a larger role at the premiere of “The It Ends With Us.
One user cautioned, ‘Watch out, or you could wind up in the basement during the premiere,’ while another replied, ‘Beware Paul, as you might find yourself in the basement on the day of the premiere.’

On December 20th, Lively lodged an extensive civil rights grievance with the California Civil Rights Authority, which preceded the formal submission of a federal lawsuit filed on December 31st against Baldoni.
Last December, Baldoni was sued by Lively for alleged sexual harassment during the film’s production. In her court case, the former Gossip Girl star claimed that Baldoni sexually harassed her in various ways, such as making derogatory comments about her body (body shaming), and organizing a campaign to tarnish her image and harm her reputation.
In a reaction to the legal action, Baldoni and his representatives asserted that Lively distorted the intended meaning of text messages and deceived the public regarding their communications during the production of the film by presenting false information.
In her legal action, Lively mentioned several individuals who worked with Baldoni, such as Wayfarer Studios (his production company), the CEO and main investor of the studio, and public relations professionals Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel.
I am optimistic that my lawsuit will expose these underhanded strategies used to punish individuals who expose wrongdoing, thereby safeguarding those who might face similar treatment in the future,” Lively expressed to The New York Times the day following her complaint submission.
Later on, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against the publication for an alleged defamation of character, seeking $250 million, following a December 21 article called “‘We Can Bury Anyone’: Unveiling a Hollywood Slander Network’; however, the newspaper refutes these claims.

On January 16, I, Baldoni, filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloan, claiming defamation and extortion. In my court statement, I asserted that the trio fabricated ‘baseless accusations of sexual harassment’ against me.
After Lively’s grievance was lodged, Baldoni has encountered several career repercussions such as a legal action initiated by an ex-publicist, and being let go by the agency CAA (which represents both Lively and Reynolds, previously known as WME).
According to Variety, Variety reports that WME refutes allegations that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively pressured them into removing Baldoni from their list of clients.
The lawyers from both sides agreed on a strategy to consolidate the two federal lawsuits they were handling, aiming to progress with just one combined case.

The movie ‘It Ends with Us,’ featuring Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar, and Kevin McKidd, premiered on August 9 in theaters and was a crowd favorite. Based on the 2016 novel by Colleen Hoover, it raked in $148 million at the domestic box office and an impressive $350 million worldwide, as reported by Box Office Mojo.
In 2005, Blake Lively made a dynamic debut in the movie “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” alongside Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, and America Ferrera. This role catapulted her to fame, eventually landing her a prominent part on the TV series Gossip Girl, where she played Serena van der Woodsen from 2007 until 2012.
Besides these films, she has been featured in “The Town” (2010), “The Shallows” (2016), “A Simple Favor” (2018), and “The Rhythm Section” (2020).
Before “It Ends with Us”, Baldoni was primarily recognized for his portrayal of Rafael Solano on the television series Jane the Virgin from 2014 to 2019. Besides acting, he has also directed movies like “Five Feet Apart” (2019) and “Clouds” (2020). In addition, he wrote the book “Man Enough” in 2021, which aimed to challenge common perceptions about modern masculinity.
