EastEnders Star’s Son Rushed to Hospital After Trampoline Fall Causes Severe Vomiting
James Bye, known for his role in EastEnders, had his son taken to the hospital urgently due to intense vomiting following an unpleasant tumble on a trampoline.
James Martin Fowler, aged 41, is blessed with four kids together with his spouse Victoria: Edward, aged ten; Louis, at the age of eight; Hugo, a lively five-year-old; and Rufus, who will celebrate his second birthday next month.
Recently, Victoria shared on Instagram that Rufus wasn’t well after the family’s enjoyable vacation.
During the half-term break, she needs to phone 111 in the middle of the night because he slipped, hit his head, and started throwing up afterwards.
Instead of being diagnosed with a concussion, as I had initially feared, it turned out that I was struck down by the infamous “stomach flu,” also known as gastroenteritis. To my dismay, this wretched affliction spread throughout our family, leaving us all in its unpleasant grip.
On Instagram, she shared her story: “Earlier this week, just as the boys were winding down for bed outside on the trampoline, I made a prediction that I’ve made before – those trampolines are going to be my downfall. And now, it seems they have come true again.

While observing, albeit not fully engaged (to be truthful, I’m quite exhausted, it’s the school break, James is working, and there are only so many ‘Mummy watch me’ requests I can handle), Rufus, who was contentedly following a line of ants (apparently that keeps him calm), all of a sudden scaled up and, in slow motion, performed a spin, ending up flat on his head.
Following numerous tears and anxious online medical searches, he appeared fine, so I gratefully managed to get them all settled for the night.
A few hours passed, and he suddenly threw up profusely all around. I made an urgent call to 111, and off we went to the emergency room at the hospital.
About 12 hours after more than a few bouts of vomiting (and other symptoms), the doctor sent us home, attributing it to gastroenteritis. Frankly, I must admit that I was a bit doubtful about this diagnosis. Particularly since she emphasized how contagious it could be.
Without a doubt, I can’t help but admit that what followed was quite unexpected. In just a few short days, it seemed as if my body had turned into a veritable vomiting machine, an experience unlike any I’ve ever had before. The walls, the door frame, the carpet – nothing was safe from this onslaught. And let’s just say, there were more than a few “accidents” in the bathroom.
By the way, we happened to be lodging with James’ family during that period, and our visually impaired pet added an unexpected challenge – he would sometimes have accidents and then push his head against the wall in a corner. It’s been quite a chaotic situation – figuratively and literally speaking.
As I compose this message, I’ve recently arrived home with cheerful goodbyes from the grandparents. Snuggled up in a blanket now, I’ve shed nearly half my body weight due to the heat (every storm has its silver lining), and unfortunately, I’ve only been able to keep down a single cup of tea for several days.

The next day, she shared a message: “Greetings my dear ones. I’m still battling it out in the trenches with this bothersome illness… Your heartfelt well wishes truly mean a lot to me.
I’m trying my best not to grumble too much… (You know, I do try to keep it under control. After all, who wouldn’t enjoy coming home from rehearsals to find a lively discussion and a bit of chaos instead?)
A month has passed since James emotionally filmed his final scene as Martin Fowler on EastEnders, which brought him to tears, and he recently shared an odd demand made by the production team.
During the special live episode marking its 40th anniversary, a cherished character met a tragic fate when he was fatally injured by a falling metal beam as he tried to save his long-term partner, Stacey Slater, following an explosion at the Queen Vic.
Preparing a eulogy before his character’s funeral, James shared that they had practiced the performance meticulously to ensure no mishaps during the live broadcast. However, his heart pounded powerfully within him with an surge of adrenaline.
In the final run-through, I broke down. When Stacey stepped aside to speak with the paramedic, it felt surreal, almost as if I wasn’t present in my own body. (The actor shared this with The Mirror.)
After she returned, my eyes were filled with flowing tears. When I tried to speak again, it seemed like my words were muffled by heavy sobbing, making them difficult for anyone to comprehend.
Despite stating he wouldn’t watch a recording of his own funeral, held months earlier, he disclosed an unusual demand from the film crew instead.
James commented: “To be truthful, it feels a little odd to me. They wanted photos of myself for the program at the service. However, I declined. I don’t wish for actual pictures of me at my funeral, with my genuine family digitally removed.
Following his debut as the first-born child on the series, Martin sadly met an untimely end after an explosion occurred at The Queen Vic.

After making a valiant effort to save his long-term sweetheart Stacey Slater, he met a tragic end when a heavy beam fell upon him.
Initially, it seemed like Martin was successfully freed from under the beam. However, tragically, his heart failed as firefighters hastened to attempt a rescue.
In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself standing by as my late partner, Martin, expressed his deep affection for me, proposing just seconds before he tragically passed away right before my very eyes, leaving me heartbroken and overwhelmed with tears.
In a heart-wrenching turn, the story concluded with Stacey clinging to Martin’s still form as her sobs echoed through the Queen Vic, reaching the ears of those on the outside, anxiously awaiting updates.
