Travel aboard a real-life Hogwarts Express at a new SoCal ‘Harry Potter’ experience

Even if you never received your Hogwarts letter, you’ll soon be able to experience the magic of the Hogwarts Express thanks to a new “Harry Potter” attraction.

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I’m so excited about this! This summer, you can actually ride a real train that feels like the Hogwarts Express at the Southern California Railway Museum. It’s a chance to live out a dream for any of us who grew up reading the books or watching the movies. The adventure runs from July 24th to September 27th, and they’re even celebrating ‘Back to Hogwarts Day’ on September 1st – how cool is that?!

The Hogwarts Express Adventure will start with a special experience themed after Platform 9¾, complete with House rivalries, cheers, and magical challenges onboard the train. Guests can enjoy themed snacks from a trolley during the ride. The journey will culminate in a village inspired by Hogsmeade, offering even more food, drinks, and souvenirs.

Entertainment & Arts

HBO has unveiled the first trailer for its new ‘Harry Potter’ series, based on ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.’ The show is set to debut on Christmas Day in 2026.

Rail Events Inc.’s announcement hints at a run-in with “a dark and mysterious force.” Known for the popular Polar Express Train Ride, the company created this new experience, A Hogwarts Express Adventure, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.

Fans of the “Harry Potter” books have a lot to look forward to this year! A new TV series based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved books is coming to HBO Max on Christmas Day. The show will follow a new generation of Harry, Ron, and Hermione – played by Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton – as they begin their adventures at Hogwarts. (It’s worth noting that J.K. Rowling continues to be a controversial figure due to her views on transgender women.)

Tickets for A Hogwarts Express Adventure go on sale April 28th. Prices start at $77 for adults and $67 for children between the ages of 2 and 11, with the final cost varying based on when you choose to travel.
