Known for his Academy Award-winning performances in movies like “The Godfather Part II” and “Raging Bull”, the esteemed actor shared a message with Variety after Airyn spoke candidly about her journey, decision to come out, embracing her new identity, and aspirations for boosting trans visibility and fostering a kinder world, in an interview with Them, an online platform dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community.
As a dedicated cinephile, I, like Robert De Niro, fondly remember welcoming Airyn and her twin brother Julian back in 1995, along with my then partner Toukie Smith. Now, whenever I get the chance, I echo De Niro’s sentiments, expressing my unwavering support for my daughter, just as he does.
I have affectionately raised Aaron as my son, and now I do the same for Airyn as my daughter. To me, it’s just a natural extension of my parental love – I cherish all my kids equally.
