Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s sci-fi flop has just been added to Prime Video

A star-studded sci-fi flop of recent years has made its way onto Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.

2016 saw the release of the film “Passengers,” featuring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt as characters Aurora and Jim. These two colonists find themselves accidentally awakened from their deep sleep on a voyage to a distant, colonized planet, potentially facing a gruesome demise due to being awake before their journey’s end.

Even with the combined celebrity influence of Lawrence and Pratt, the film Passengers still received unfavorable criticisms.

The movie directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts features a strong ensemble cast including Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, and Andy García alongside its main characters. However, it currently holds a 30% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

In spite of the harsh criticism it received regarding its portrayal of consent and questionable love scenes, I still found myself drawn to the success of the movie “Passengers” on a global scale. It managed to rake in a substantial sum of $303.1 million at the box office worldwide.

If you’d like to check out Passengers personally and form your own opinion, the movie became available on Prime Video in both the UK and Ireland as of yesterday.

Before directing the movie “Passengers”, Tyldum previously helmed the biopic “The Imitation Game”. In this film, Benedict Cumberbatch played the character Alan Turing, while Keira Knightley portrayed Joan Clark.

In the movie, the director received a Best Director nomination at the 2014 Oscars, but the award went to Alejandro G Iñarritu for “Birdman” instead.

Tyldum has also ventured into television direction, having taken charge as director for episodes of the Apple TV+ series ‘Defending Jacob’ and ‘Silo’.

The movie “Passengers” can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video in both the United Kingdom and Ireland. In the United States, it’s also accessible on the same platform.

Grab a copy of “British Comedy Legends” from your local newsstand or buy it online right away, with a price tag of £7.99.
