You Won’t Believe How Savage Katherine Pierce Got in These 10 Epic Vampire Diaries Moments

Elena Gilbert, though the main character, frequently found herself overshadowed by Katherine Pierce due to her captivating charm and resourcefulness. Both women were replicas of Amara, the original Petrova, who set off a chain of extraordinary events when she broke trust with her employer, Qetsiyah, the sorceress, by entering into a relationship with Silas, Qetsiyah’s lover. Of all the Petrova clones, Katherine was the most unforgettable one.

Katherine’s past was extensive and captivating, encompassing periods of victory and sorrow. As a person, she was pure and delicate, yet life compelled her to toughen up and adapt. However, don’t let her wicked nature deceive you; Katherine had tender moments that left fans questioning her character. Katherine was renowned for her compelling storylines within the series The Vampire Diaries.

Prior to Season 6, Katherine’s backstory depicted her as an ordinary human who was transformed into a vampire after being pursued by Klaus. However, in The Vampire Diaries, Katherine’s character underwent significant changes when they introduced a new supernatural element: she was not just an ordinary human but also part of the Traveler group of witches.

In this scenario, these witches were doomed to never inhabit their own physical forms, instead moving from one host to another to maintain their coven. This unexpected revelation played a significant role in Katherine’s lineage, yet it didn’t significantly enrich her narrative. It enabled Katherine to occupy Elena’s body at the critical moment before death, but overall, it was a rather far-fetched concept.

Katherine typically concealed her human side beneath thick walls of bitterness, but an unusual warmth emerged when it came to both Stefan and Damon. This was a stark contrast to her usual demeanor. When she learned that Klaus intended to kill Damon, Katherine privately counseled Stefan, imploring him to reactivate his humanity, lest he lose his brother.

Katherine disguised herself as Elena to aid Stefan and Damon, playing the part of someone Mikael supposedly killed. Klaus’ hybrid forces were ordered to attack Damon if he harmed Klaus, but Katherine miraculously rose from the dead and threw vervain bombs at them to control them. It was touching to observe that Katherine didn’t merely exploit the Salvatore brothers, but genuinely cared for them, a sentiment evident in this particular plotline.

Initially, it appeared that Katherine had permanently disappeared when her spirit vanished from the Other Side. However, this wasn’t entirely accurate. In fact, Katherine orchestrated everything, as the power behind Cade, Sybil, Seline, and all Hell-related matters. It was revealed that Katherine’s soul had been thrust into Hell, but she managed to negotiate with even the Devil himself, convincing him to let her be in charge.

It emerged that it was Katherine who instructed Cade and Sybil to chase after the Salvatores, intending it as a playful prank. This surprising disclosure greatly deepened the intrigue surrounding the Devil’s persuit of Damon and Stefan. Moreover, her reappearance in her formidable, malevolent guise enriched TVD, serving as a reminder to viewers of Katherine’s immense power.

Klaus played a significant role in Katherine’s life, yet he was the most detrimental aspect of it. His ambition drove him to lift the curse cast upon him by Esther and reveal his hybrid nature, which could only be achieved by slaying a doppelganger for their blood. However, Katherine believed that Klaus harbored affection for her, and she was devastated when she learned the truth. Yet, she remained resolute, choosing to continue living.

In a state of despair, Katherine transformed into a vampire by taking her own life. This self-preservation move, however, didn’t spare her from Klaus’ relentless pursuit. He hunted her across the globe, murdered her kin, and made her existence a torment. It was evident that Klaus was the catalyst for transforming an innocent child into a cynical and malicious adult, who only developed such traits to endure.

Katherine Pierce was undeniably attractive, and she found herself in a love triangle spanning centuries – with Klaus and Elijah. Although Klaus didn’t genuinely feel affection for her, he feigned it, causing Katherine to be perplexed. Katherine harbored fond feelings for Elijah, who was always considerate towards her and took her emotions seriously, and they often engaged in profound discussions about life and romance.

In The Vampire Diaries, although their love didn’t blossom within Klaus’ domain, Elijah and Katherine found it difficult to remain separated for extended periods. After resuming their relationship, complications surrounding the Cure caused them to drift apart. Elijah inspired the best in Katherine, who willingly surrendered herself to him without any conditions or demands; however, this romance was destined for failure from its inception.

In every place where Katherine resides, disorder follows suit, and this truth was vividly demonstrated towards the close of Season 1. Her arrival marked one of her most significant plot twists, for she showed no mercy to any character. Katherine severed John Gilbert’s fingers, impersonated Elena, kissed Damon with malicious intent to sabotage their relationship, instigated a break-up between Stefan and Elena, and transformed Caroline into a vampire.

At this point, Katherine was at the height of her power, and she paid no heed to any repercussions. She found great delight in manipulating the Salvatores, with pretending to be Elena being her most enjoyable act. The havoc she first wreaked in Mystic Falls not only showcased Katherine’s best and worst qualities but also solidified her as a formidable antagonist on the series.

In Klaus’s court, Katherine stood solitary. Upon discovering who intended to do her harm, she became vigilant in self-preservation. As Elijah attempted to shield her using magic, Katherine refused to rely solely on such means. Recalling Trevor’s affection for her, she implored him to provide her sanctuary with his friend Rose.

In this scenario, Katherine came up with a strategy to make herself powerless to Klaus. She intentionally injured herself, causing Rose to provide her with vampire blood for healing. After receiving the vampire blood, Katherine took her own life, becoming one of the undead in the process, and thus eliminating any powers her own blood possessed. This was a crucial event in the series, setting the tone for Katherine’s life moving forward, as well as creating a troubled existence for Rose and Trevor.

A painful chapter in Katherine’s history involved giving birth to a child before marriage, a fact that resulted in her family cutting ties with her. Unfortunately, the identity of the baby’s father remained unknown, and the infant was taken away from her immediately following the birth.

Following Elena forcing the cure down Katherine’s throat, it was Nadia – Katherine’s daughter – who went back to Mystic Falls and discovered her mother. This surprising turn of events was particularly captivating since Nadia had transformed into a vampire herself, tirelessly seeking out Katina. Their conversations were sharp yet tender, adding depth to this narrative. This part of the storyline was adored because it revealed an unexpected aspect of Katherine’s character.

Before Nadia arrived in Katherine’s world, Katherine became overconfident and instigated a dispute with Elena. Katherine believed she could easily defeat Elena, who was a novice vampire, but underestimated the surprise factor. Elena, equally exasperated by Katherine’s behavior, retaliated when Katherine attempted to rip out her heart. Instead, Elena thrust the Cure into Katherine’s mouth.

This unexpected incident transformed Katherine into a human, but it wasn’t beneficial for her since she had accumulated numerous enemies. Being a human was not an ideal situation for her. Later on, Silas took away the Cure from her, which ultimately led to her demise. These events eventually prompted people to say goodbye to this complex character.

Interacting with Stefan and Damon Salvatore was a crucial aspect of Katherine’s character development. The moment she moved into the Salvatore Boarding House significantly impacted not only Katherine but also the Salvatores, as it marked the beginning of her relationship with them. Katherine’s presence ultimately influenced Stefan and Damon to become vampires, as she desired for both brothers to spend eternity with her.

Despite having hidden agendas, Katherine harbored genuine affection towards the brothers within her heart. However, her own survival was paramount, leading her to leave them behind to strike a deal with a relative from the Gilbert family. Yet, her feelings for Stefan remained constant over centuries. They even perished together in the flames of Hellfire.
