Can You Guess the Major US Singer in Cannes Film The Mastermind?
In a surprising transformation, a prominent American vocalist appeared almost unidentifiable in the initial glimpses of her character for an upcoming film set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
In one of the three images unveiled on Wednesday, a particular star is highlighted as part of the upcoming film titled “The Mastermind,” which will also feature Josh O’Connor.
In the peaceful nook of Massachusetts during the 1970s, jobless carpenter-turned-amateur art thief named JB Mooney (Josh O’Connor), embarks on planning his grand initial robbery.
‘When things go haywire, his life unravels.’
Additionally, you’ll see notable performances from John Magaro, Hope Davis, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, Amanda Plummer, Eli Gelb, Cole Doman, Javion Allen, Matthew Maher, and Rhenzy Feliz.

That’s right it’s Alana Haim from the band HAIM! She is starring in film The Mastermind.
Apart from being part of the band with her sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana, she has also ventured into acting.
In 2021, I stepped into the world of film for the first time, gracing the silver screen as the lead actress in the captivating feature film “Licorice Pizza,” masterfully directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
In the movie Licorice Pizza, Alana took on the role of Alana Kane, a thoughtful 25-year-old character navigating life’s complexities. During the story, she develops feelings for Gary, a streetwise entrepreneur played by Cooper Hoffman.
In the movie, it was a personal experience for Alana, since her parents, Mordechai and Donna Haim, portrayed her on-screen parents, and her siblings took roles that represented themselves too.
In 2022, Alana and her fellow actor, Cooper, were each given a Breakthrough Performance award for their parts in a comedy at the National Board of Review Awards held in New York City.
Paul was also awarded Best Director for his work on the film.
Meanwhile, Bradley appeared in his supporting role as film producer Jon Peters.

This week is quite hectic for Alana, as HAIM recently announced a large-scale tour that will take place in the UK’s largest arenas.
HAIM will play London, Manchester, Glasgow and more as part of their I Quit tour.
The Haim sisters, specifically Danielle, Alana, and Este, are releasing their initial full-length studio album in five years, titled “I Quit.
In 2020, I was part of an incredible project that earned a Silver certification for UK album sales and was even nominated for Album of the Year at the prestigious Grammy Awards – it was none other than Women in Music Pt. III, their latest masterpiece.
I Quit will be released on June 20 2025.
