The Champions Clash of the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS), also known as the OWCS Hangzhou Major, concluded on April 20th. In all, the Ember Juno Crowdfunding Bundle raised an impressive $260,000 for this tournament. It was Crazy Raccoon who emerged victorious and will receive the largest portion of the prize money, amounting to $104,000. Team Falcons will be awarded $52,000, while NTMR will receive $26,000. The distribution of these winnings will depend on each team’s performance throughout the tournament.
Beginning on April 22nd, NetEase unveiled fresh rewards to boost the Chinese league in 2025. According to this plan, any Chinese team that makes it to the top four during a live OWCS 2025 event will receive 200,000 RMB (equivalent to approximately $27,500). If a Chinese team emerges victorious in the main OWCS 2025 tournament held live, they’ll be given 1,000,000 RMB ($137,500) instead, as of when this article was published.
2024 wasn’t our year for taking the top spot, but let me tell you, we were the lone wolves who left the gaming arena with a heavier wallet than what we initially brought in to the tournament. Score one for the underdogs!
