Real Housewives of Sydney star Lisa Oldfield has revealed she suffered a serious medical emergency.

On a recent Wednesday, Lisa, age 50, utilized Instagram to post an update about her unexpected trip to the hospital for a surgical procedure earlier in the week.

A celebrity from reality TV posted a picture where she was depicted recuperating in a hospital bed, with a breathing tube inserted in her nostrils and what seemed like electrodes affixed to her forehead.

She noted that she prefers planning her upcoming week, but an unexpected health issue, diverticulitis, wasn’t part of her plans, as expressed in her surprising post.

Continuing, she thanked her partner James Laws for springing into action to get Lisa to hospital.

As Jimmy swiftly took care of my situation and arranged for prompt surgery, I couldn’t help but jest that he must know the most exceptional vet on the Northern Beaches – my doctor is truly remarkable!

Diverticulitis refers to a health issue that arises when tiny sacs or pockets known as diverticula in the large intestine (colon) get inflamed or infected.

A severe issue can arise when a part of the bowel wall tears or punctures (perforated diverticulitis), enabling the colon’s content to seep into the abdominal cavities.

This can lead to peritonitis – a potentially fatal infection of the abdominal lining.

Lisa’s post was met with an outpouring of support and well wishes from friends and followers.

I’m absolutely desperate for your swift recovery! Finding skilled veterinarians nowadays seems like a real challenge,” I found myself expressing, as another echoed my sentiments with, “Extending warm, healing embraces to you.

Another person put it quite succinctly by saying, “That sounds tough! I hope you’re getting better soon and recover quickly.

In November, Lisa caused concern among her followers when she posted a surprising picture on social media showing blood coming from the top of her head.

In the picture, she appeared to have her eyes shut and seemed tired or exhausted. In the accompanying text, she disclosed an unexpected method by which she suffered an injury.

Lisa posted: ‘It wasn’t ideal to kick off my day. At 6:30 am, I stumbled into my bathroom closet instead. From now on, I’ll avoid rising before the double digits.’

‘Oh no! I hope you are all right,’ one concerned follower wrote.

It’s not the first time Lisa has shared photos of her facial injuries to social media.

In July, she shared an identical photo on Instagram that depicted a stream of blood trickling from her forehead to her hairline.

‘I am the clumsiest person on the planet,’ she wrote in her caption.

‘I sneezed really hard and managed to bang my head on the door I was closing at the time’.

In March, Lisa disclosed to her fans that she had received a diagnosis for myocarditis, which is an inflammation affecting the heart muscle layer.

She posted on social media that she initially believed she was experiencing the excitement of winning on Saturday, but it turned out she has myocarditis.

‘Bit scary but with lots of rest I should make a 100% recovery,’ she continued.

A devotee inquired: “Could this side effect be linked to the vaccine you received? I know a few individuals who developed myocarditis as well, following their vaccinations.

Lisa was quick to address their concern. 

‘No from my osteomyelitis from my broken toe,’ she responded.

Lisa, previously married to David Oldfield, a co-founder of One Nation, gained popularity following her appearance on The Real Housewives of Sydney in the year 2016.
