Comedian Chris McCausland has affirmed his upcoming television appearance on BBC, where he will be starring in a deeply personal documentary.
The current “Strictly Come Dancing” titleholder has officially been named as the host of “Seeing into the Future,” a one-hour documentary where McCausland delves into his own private connection with technology by visiting Silicon Valley.
In a statement, McCausland expressed his excitement: “Being a tech enthusiast since forever, I’m thrilled to officially make my passion my job now.” He added, “I can’t wait to be among the first to test out the newest tech devices and gizmos.
The comedian, who had just won the Glitterball trophy with Dianne Buswell, also mentioned that he plans to connect with some robots as it seems they’ll soon be in control of us all.
Andy Thistlewood, Executive Producer for Open Mike Productions, expressed his joy about collaborating once more. This time we’re venturing into an exciting and entertaining exploration of Chris’s unique bond with technology, as well as a daring realm of advanced AI, robotics, and self-driving vehicles,” he said.

Chris is known for his wit, dancing skills, and hosting successful TV shows, yet technology is truly where his heart lies. From the moment he was born, Chris struggled with retinitis pigmentosa, a condition that robbed him of his sight. By his twenties, he had lost all vision.
What’s made Chris unique in his connection with technology is that these advancements, like the iPhone and voice-activated smart helpers, have significantly transformed his life, rather than just being convenient additions for him, as they might be perceived by sighted individuals.

Chris is enthusiastic about technology. He pursued software engineering in college and eagerly anticipates new groundbreaking gadgets. Whether it’s robots, self-driving vehicles, artificial intelligence, or the evolution of smart glasses, he’s on the edge of his seat, curious to discover what lies ahead.
Although there’s no announced release date for “Seeing into the Future,” fans of comedian Chris McCausland can catch him live in his comedy special titled “Chris McCausland: Live.” This special was recorded at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in 2023 and is now available for streaming on Netflix.
Chris McCausland: Seeing into the Future has no release date.
