Should you pull for Anaxa or Dr. Ratio in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 Phase 2 banner
Story Highlights
- Dr. Ratio delivers high single-target damage through follow-up attacks and is ideal for boss-focused fights!
- Anaxa is a powerful AoE Wind Erudition unit who inflicts multiple weaknesses on enemies, amplifying both his damage and his team’s overall effectiveness!
- Dr. Ratio has shifted away from the meta as more Hunt units are added while Anaxa will be meta-proofed for at least a few future Versions
In the latest update, Version 3.2 of Honkai: Star Rail, there’s a new dual banner showcasing characters Anaxa and Dr. Ratio. This announcement was made by HoYoverse.
In the upcoming phase of the game starting from April 30th, 2025, and lasting until May 20th, 2025, we’ll evaluate each character’s abilities and traits for future reference. We’ll suggest the best characters to choose from the four available options based on their strengths and qualities.
Why should you go for Anaxa in HSR version 3.2
I’m thrilled to share that in the upcoming Phase 2 of Honkai: Star Rail, version 3.2 brings Anaxa, the highly-awaited 5-Star Wind Erudition character into the spotlight! Known for her mastery over elemental disruption, Anaxa is a formidable AoE Wind Erudition unit who not only deals massive damage but also weakens multiple enemies simultaneously. This boosts not only her power but also significantly enhances the effectiveness of my team!
- Fresh Wind Erudition DPS: First major Wind AoE DPS since characters like Feixiao and Blade, offering diversity if you’re lacking Wind coverage.
- Strong AoE Skill: Hits one enemy and chains to four others, making him great for multi-target content like Pure Fiction.
- Ultimate Inflicts All Weaknesses: Applies every element’s weakness (physical, fire, ice, lightning, wind, quantum, imaginary) to enemies during his Sublimation state—powerful synergy with most teams.

- Control Utility: Non-boss enemies without control resistance cannot act during Sublimation, providing excellent crowd control.
- Scales with Weakness Count: Gains bonus damage and defense-ignoring effects based on the number of weaknesses inflicted on enemies.
- Easy Synergy: Pairs well with characters like Silver Wolf (for random weaknesses) or Qingque/The Herta for AoE setups.
- Team Buffer Potential: Though largely selfish, his debuff-heavy kit can assist allies with weakness break support.
Why should you go for Dr. Ratio in HSR version 3.2
Dr. Ratio is a character in the game who specializes in utilizing debuffs effectively. He inflicts substantial damage on a single target by following up his attacks , making him particularly useful for battles against bosses. Originally given for free, Dr. Ratio remains valuable due to his reliable damage output and compatibility with teams that rely heavily on debuffs. As such, he serves as a strong alternative for players who don’t have top-tier characters in the game!
- High Single-Target Damage: As a Hunt character, excels in boss fights or any single-target content.
- Follow-Up Attack Mechanic: Triggers high-damage follow-ups based on enemy debuffs—strong synergy with debuff-based teams.
- Accessible Utility: Skill grants a 40–100% chance (depending on enemy debuffs) to trigger follow-ups, adding burst potential.

- Great in FUA Teams: Works well with Aventurine, Topaz, or March 7th (Hunt) —any character who layers FUA helps Ratio shine.
- Pure Fiction Viability: His follow-up attacks and consistent damage make him a decent pick for high-speed content formats.
- No Light Cone Requirement: Unlike Anaxa, Ratio works fine without a premium light cone.
- Eidolons Exist for Fans: If you enjoyed him as a free unit, pulling duplicates (E1/E2) can slightly boost performance, though not essential.
Who should you pull for in HSR version 3.2 Phase 2
If you’re a veteran who previously claimed Dr. Ratio during his free event, it’s best advice to overlook him unless you’re a collector or an ardent fan. His Eidolons provide minimal enhancements but aren’t worth the Stellar Jades, considering his total power potential. Even if you didn’t get him before, he’s now generally viewed as a “placeholder” Hunt unit. There are more beneficial options available for your account.
Instead of Anaxa, you might find a unit that provides an exceptional set of features, including high damage against multiple foes, utility through weakness exploitation, and robust self-scaling abilities. Although not essential to acquire, this character is more versatile and future-proof compared to Ratio. This makes it particularly beneficial for players who may be lacking a strong Area of Effect (AoE) option or Wind unit. Anaxa excels in content like Pure Fiction, complements many existing characters well, and can be effectively used without relying on his signature light cone.
If you prioritize long-term value and variety in gameplay, consider supporting Anaxa. He typically brings something fresh to most rosters, whereas Dr. Ratio might seem more like a secondary choice. Reserve your Jades for newer Hunt units or high-tier damage dealers unless Ratio’s playstyle appeals to you personally.
