Once Human Mobile to get Controller Support soon, confirms NetEase Games
Story Highlights
- Once Human is a multiplayer open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world, infected by Stardust.
- It launched on mobile on April 24, but it didn’t include controller support, which disappointed many fans.
- While there’s no official release date announced yet, controller support is coming soon.
NetEase Games has announced that their open-world action-survival game “Once Human,” released this month following early access in Canada in 2021 and several closed beta testing phases, will soon offer mobile controller support. The most recent mobile beta testing phase took place in February 2025.
Once Human is officially available on mobile, with controller support arriving soon
In “Once Human,” you find yourself in a multiplayer survival adventure, taking place in a post-apocalyptic universe contaminated by an alien element known as Stardust. As a Meta-Human, you possess the unique ability to manipulate this substance’s energy, enabling you to either battle for control, reconstruct the world, or assert dominance over it at your will.
The game offers an incredibly fun experience as you traverse a vast, interconnected map spanning 256 square kilometers, featuring diverse landscapes such as frozen tundras, active volcanoes, and many others. In addition to this exploration, you’re given the ability to construct your own base in the wilderness, store your accumulated items, and protect it using weapons and traps. Furthermore, you can collect companions known as deviation pals.
Hi! We’re already working on mobile controller support, and it will be released soon.

It’s even more thrilling because the developers have confirmed on X (previously known as Twitter) about adding Controller support for mobile devices. They mentioned that they are currently developing this feature and it will be available soon.
The game is also bringing a variety of content along with this
It’s wonderful to hear that controller support will be available soon for this game, as initially, fans weren’t content due to its absence at launch. Some voiced their displeasure, while others found the touchscreen controls less than satisfactory. Although it would have been ideal if they had added it at launch, it’s still good news that they are introducing it soon, even though a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
It’s suggested that you might want to hold off for now, since there’s plenty more to come according to their 2025 Development Roadmap. You can anticipate controller support as well as storylines such as Code: Broken, Deviation, and Purification, Visual Wheels, and a crossover event scheduled towards the end of 2025.
