Hunger Games fans praise “flawless” cast announcement: “Give casting director a raise”

The Hunger Games fans have given their thumbs up to their movie series’ latest casting.

In simple terms, it’s been revealed that Lionsgate is planning to release a sequel prequel movie titled “Sunrise on the Reaping“, and they’ve chosen Jesse Plemons to portray the younger version of the character, Plutarch Heavensbee.

In “Catching Fire”, Plutarch took on the role of the Chief Architect, orchestrating the Games, but it was later unveiled that he held a significant position within the rebellion. He played a pivotal part in rescuing Katniss Everdeen from the arena and supporting the rebellion against the Capitol.

In the movies, he was portrayed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, unfortunately, he had already passed away before the filming of Mockingjay Part 2 was finished. Consequently, his unused scenes were reassigned to different characters.

After it was revealed that “Killers of the Flower Moon” actor Plemons would portray a young Plutarch, fans generally thought he was a fitting selection.

One spectator commented, “Perfect choice for the character, I can hardly wait to see him perform!”, while another exclaimed, “I can already tell that he was born to play this part!

Another comment remarked, “Wow, that’s a perfect fit!”, while another fan added, “That’s just how I pictured him.

“They really said let’s give the fans what they want,” someone else said.

Many comments suggested that the casting directors should receive a pay increase, work on every future film adaptation, and possibly receive an Academy Award.

As I, a young and eager gamer, step into the arena for the fiftieth round of the Hunger Games, I find myself embodying none other than the legendary Haymitch Abernathy – a role I never thought I’d play. The sun rises on this reaping, casting long shadows over my journey in this brutal competition.

To those familiar with the original story, it’s well-known that Haymitch’s victory in the Games resulted in severe physical scars and a reliance on alcohol. However, he ultimately managed to retaliate against the Capitol by joining the uprising.

Casting for young Haymitch and his love interest Lenore was also announced recently.

At the break of dawn on November 20, 2026, the eagerly anticipated prequel movie titled “Dawn of the Reaping,” a spin-off from “The Hunger Games,” will grace cinema screens. The book version with the same title is currently accessible for purchase here.
