Paul McCartney’s lookalike son James, 48, falls asleep as he takes the bus – after his Beatles star dad became the UK’s first music billionaire

Paul McCartney’s son, James, seemed exhausted this week when he was spotted falling asleep on the bus.

The 48-year-old musician, Sir Paul’s son with his late wife Linda, fell asleep while riding somewhere in west London on Wednesday night.

People spotted James riding the 274 bus from London Zoo towards Lancaster Gate, along with other riders.

He was well-dressed in a black jacket, white shirt, and black tie as he went around the city.

James is a successful musician with several released recordings. He’s also collaborated on albums with his parents.

This news follows the recent announcement that Paul became the first musician from the UK to reach billionaire status back in 2024.

The Beatles star’s wealth had risen by £50 million to hit the £1 billion figure that year.

Paul was named the top musician in 2023 with a fortune of £950 million, and again in 2022 when his wealth was estimated at £865 million.

This achievement comes after a successful 2023 tour, rising value in his older music, and Beyoncé’s recent cover of his band’s song, ‘Blackbird,’ on her album, Cowboy Carter.

According to The Sunday Times Music Rich List for 2024, Andrew Lloyd Webber came in second place with a wealth of £515 million, and Sir Mick Jagger was close behind with £415 million.

Paul McCartney’s performance headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2022 was a major success, and his recent ‘Got Back’ tour is estimated to have earned $105 million (approximately £84.6 million) from only 16 concerts.

His American wife Nancy also has considerable wealth in her own right, coming from haulage dynasty.

Paul and Nancy, who both have children from earlier relationships, met in 2007 and married in 2011.

Nancy and her ex-husband, Bruce Blakeman, have a son named Arlen. Paul McCartney has four children – Stella, James, Heather, and Mary – with his late wife, Linda McCartney. He also has a daughter, Beatrice, age 22, with his ex-wife, Heather Mills.

Paul and Nancy became a couple while on vacation in Morocco. He was there with his brother Mike, and he charmed Nancy by playing the piano for her at the hotel.

The Beatles musician explained that he and his partner weren’t officially dating and were each sleeping in their own rooms when he decided to pursue a relationship with them.

Paul said the piano had been in the entrance hall all day. Since it rained constantly, he occasionally played around on it.

I was lost in warm thoughts about Nancy, and I noticed the waiters clearing tables were listening to me while I played the piano.

It was a lovely, romantic experience – a perfect moment, really – and I realized we wouldn’t be sleeping apart that night.

Paul shared that his famous dance moves are what initially attracted his wife and helped their relationship last.

In his book, The Lyrics, Paul McCartney shared that he realized Nancy was special when they danced together and seemed to have the same energy.
