Despite expressing eagerness to reprise the role, Bradley’s current role in Douglas Schulze’s religious horror film, “Thorns,” finds him in a different light. Rather than summoning hell, Bradley’s character experiences a creature reminiscent of cenobites, adorned with thorns on its head, unleashing hell on earth. The latest trailer offers a chilling glimpse into the biblical terror known as the Necronaut.

As a passionate film lover, I can’t help but share my excitement for an upcoming film titled “Thorns.” The director, who has previously brought us masterpieces like “The Dark Below“, “Hellmaster“, and “Mimesis“, has confessed that this new project draws inspiration from horror greats such as “The Thing, Alien,” and “The Exorcist.” However, it’s the influence of “Hellraiser” that truly resonates. Not only does the film feature Bradley, but it also echoes the twisted blend of sin and religion, a hallmark of the “Hellraiser” series. To make things even more intriguing, this tale unfolds in the vastness of outer space.

In “Thorns“, we follow the journey of an ex-priest who now works for NASA. His assignment? To investigate a remote observatory that has fallen silent after receiving a mysterious radio signal from deep space. Upon arrival, he uncovers a chilling truth: this signal is spreading the word of God in a manner that’s downright sinister, triggering the biblical apocalypse. Doug Bradley is Back in the Saddle

We’ve already gotthe sin-celebrating horror film starring Doug Bradleyand now we’re getting the religious-centered, alternate reality version, where hell is coming from religious texts rather than, well, hell. Bradley has assumed the role of Pinhead eight times, so it’s definitely his turn to be on the other end of the frights. However, there’s something about his ominous appearance in the trailer that could hint to viewers that Bradley’s character isn’t so innocent as he makes out to be.

Bradley’s passion lies with scary movies, even though he hasn’t confined himself solely to the horror genre. The film “Thorns,” which debuted on August 26, 2023, and currently holds a rating of 3.4 on IMDb, is getting another opportunity with its upcoming release.
